I think its a fact of life.most people learn from their mistakes and i made plenty. i suppose as a parent you want your kids to avoid making the same mistakes you did.
best we can hope for is that the mistakes made are not life changing,

When I remember my high school typing teacher Ada B. (for Bun) Griffin reminding me to lift my hands up off the keyboard and arch them, I suddenly stop making so many typos.

It also annoyed me.

Julian, this is a sad situation. But I think most of us have been thru similar scenario with our kids. My son NOW tells me that I should have been tougher with him at the time. But now he is nearly 50 and faces the problem with his own daughter..

My old preacher once said that's the punishment for your behaviour as a kid.

I've heard that same theory before, and it certainly seems to come true. My solution? I am not going to have any children....because the punishment for my behaviour in my younger days would be quite severe!:shock:
