absolutely safe tweaking & maintance

I have been learning ever since i joined this forum,no doubt about that and thank you for all reponces without exception.
But if you absolute want to clean,defrag e.t.c.,i mean is there a safe way to clean your registry,defrag and so on.What if you on the stopwatch can see the improvement from cleaning & defragging your registry and a faster boot can not only be negative,i thourgt if you are the kind of person who not ONLY can benefit from other human beings experience,but have to try some things on your own and see for your self how the system behaves after this & that,and if it mean reinstall windows so be it,i do not know if this make any sense at all to anyone.back to question and headline:is there a safe way to maintain your system perfomance as when windows started for the first time,this longing for performance is what uniblue,avanquest e.t.c. is taking advantage off,and i am one off the most imbicil customers,or rather was.the bells are ringing finally.Maybe if i understood what windows 7 can and cant do and how to preserve it.

Just don't tweak WIn7 with Optimizer or Tweaking Suites and it will hold up fine as long as you're careful about what you download, blocking installers from throwing in crapware that pays for free programs. Always know what programs you have installed.

Run a clean boot by keeping everything out of msconfig>Startup and msconfig>Services (after Hiding all MS Services) except AV.

I'd run CCleaner Disk and Registry tab followed by Puran Boot-Time defrag monthly or every other month - you'll see how dirty or fragmented it is so you can judge how often to run it.

If you want to be especially vigilant, comb the logs for repeat errors to resolve and monitor the System Resources given in these troubleshooting steps.

Apportion as much space as you can spare for System Restore Points so you can roll back if performance suffers: System Protection - Change Disk Space Usage.

Keep a baseline Win7 backup image from when it's running best, then a file backup done regularly so you can reimage if Win7 becomes irreparable and have a recent file backup to reimport:

I already created a "Standalone System Sweeper" cd as per this forum instructions. I have a q.......I created a shortcut of "cmd" but forgot what to write for scanning the computer and can't find that thread. Is it scf/scannow ? Boy I am so glad I found this forum.

Well, I did a full restore last night and now only have CC Cleaner, Microsoft Essentials Security and ATF Cleaner. I have the Norton (uninstall ) and thinking of getting Bit Defender. IMO, Norton is too intrusive/annoying.
Do U folks use any tools for CPU and GPU monitoring ?

If you have MSE you don't need another AV. You also don't need ATF Cleaner, just use CCleaner.
