Solved How do I get rid of Babylon ?

I looked through the Remove Babylon, but this is what we travelled through yesterday.
I already have Revo Uninstaller installed, but again, there's no Babylon installed, that can be removed.

Run a Malwarebytes Scan

If that doesn't pick it up try an SFC Scan

Then try changing it.

how I removed Babylon is, I deleted it from downloads, went into control panel and UN installed anything to do with it, then went on the internet browser, clicked on tools, options, and on windows 7 it should bring you to a page that is the basics, then where it says homepage, it will have Babylon there, delete it and put whatever you want in there such as Google . Then there is another tab a bit further down that says search, click the drop down arrow and you will find all the search engines you use, change it to Google, but that still wont get rid of it, so click the button next to it that says manage search engines, here you will be able to pick the default search engine you want and delete others

darkhorse, okay. i get that you tried changing it to about blank but the string comes back, you still didn't tell me if did you take a look in the default search engine option in internet explorer? cause it should at least allow you to change the default search engine to something else. please give me a screen shot of your search engines listed in internet explorer and your task manager.

as suggested by Infinite, have you done the SFC scan? if yes, did it find any violations? also, what are the scan results of Malwarebytes and MSE?

After finishing the Scan, don't remove the Viruses it picks up, instead click Save Log, save it to My Documents and attatch the file here.

Or go to UserFolder/AppData/Roaming/Malwarebytes/Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware/Logs

ATM, I'm running the SFC scan. After I will run MSE.

I would delete the Babylon that now is disabled, but I got this, what is attached, and REMOVE is greyed. How do I delete the Babylons ?

wow. looks like this thing really got your computer. a system restore would have worked but you said that you can't do that. anyway, can you remember after installing which software the babylon came in? and since, how many days are you stuck with this babylon toolbar?

Well, yesterday I did an system restore, but this was also from yesterday morning, so not much of help with this.

I cannot remember what software babylon came in with.

I have had babylon since a while. Cannot be more precise :-(

are you facing any other problems with your computer? after trying the main ways 1) through uninstall from add/remove 2) through system restore 3) manually removing it from the browsers - of getting rid of the babylon toolbar but failed. if yes, I would suggest you,its best you take a back up of all your personal stuff and do a clean install of your windows http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html . I know it sounds stupid, im suggesting you a clean install just cause of that toolbar. but .. sorry, i don't find any other option here, but i could call other members to look into your problem for help . let me knw what results come from MSE though.

btw open my computer and navigate to this folder c:\program files\babylontoolbar\babylontoolbar\1.5.3.17 and see if you find any button to uninstall it, if yes. uninstall it.

I checked the folder, but it wasn't there. I already did a search with Everyting, and removed ALL babylon instances.

I know how much we all hate to have to do a clean install so the answer to your question is sadly , yes. but be sure to take a back up of all your important stuffs

But I see it as having a new pure system.
I run backup every day, so this is ok.
