BSOD NDIS.SYS? Help Needed

Windows 7 X64 Acer Aspire Laptop
Operating system came installed, assuming OEM. Never reinstalled. System about 4 months old.
Browsing facebook. PC shuts down BSOD, it has happened a few times. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Not NDIS, but NETIO.SYS. Usually that means either your malware application or malware. In your case it was Related to VBEngNT.sys Loader SYS for Windows NT/2000/XP from VirusBuster Kft.

I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

How To Find Drivers:

- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

That file belongs to Outpost Security Suite. Is there a way to fix this without losing the security suite? Or is outpost no longer the way to go on Windows 7?

Im not familiar with it so I cant tell. You can tell if it is the only problem by uninstalling it and seeing if your crashes stop. If they dont you can always re-install it.

Ok thank you. Is it a better idea to run Windows firewall? Should I use my own windows 7 disc and do a complete reinstall without all the extras that came bundled on the laptop?

IMHO (and I do this on every new machine) I scrub and Clean install. From a strictly BSOD perspective MSE and the windows firewall is the most stable.
