Solved I'm doomed

But they also charge the earth if they are able to recover. So make sure what the cost is likely to be in case they are able to recover.

Might have to send my hard drive to one of those places that can recover data. If they don't get your data then it's free :)

It does seem that under the circumstances a clean install is your best option.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html

I realise that telling you now doesn't help, but can you now see the importance of backing up your personal data to an external location?

By all means keep stuff on your internal hard drive, but always back it up to an external drive. If it's really crucial to you, use two backup drives and alternate them.

So I got an message from my AV saying that I had an Trojan horse and i should put it in my valt, so I did. About 15min later my computer restarted itself, and before it got to the starting windows bit, it said missing operating system. I tried doing a start up repair, and it said it was repairing some disk and it would take an hour to fix. After about a minute it said there was an error. I don't know what else to do. Im guessing i have no operating system, does this mean all my files are gone?? I have nothing to back up with so I had no back up.

Any help welcome

Just a couple things here. You can save your data. Go buy a 20+ gig usb. Download a live dvd like linux. It's free and boot from it. Then choose use without install. Use the file browser to copy and paste onto usb the files you want to save. Do a clean install. Plug in your usb and paste your files from the usb.

Also you can probably backup your new operating system onto the usb. I have an entire disk image on an 18 gig usb. There are a few free backup utilities that will do this. The whole process shouldn't cost more 20 bucks.

People dont realise sometimes if you got a virus no matter how many times you do a repair the virus is still there, if you have a way of taking you pc to a repair shop tell them your problem and most case they can remove the virus, clean install removes your important files.. now if you have the Antivirus on a USB that will work as well..Good luck

I don't think I can do anything of what you said, because there is no trace of windows at all. I don't even get to the loading screen with the flag

This is why you need to boot an AV scan to see if you can clean it up enough to repair System files, then Startup Repair. Windows 7 fails to boot

You either have a crippled OS which might be repaired, or you deleted the partition with Win7. If the latter, you can boot free Partition Wizard bootable CD to run Partition Recovery Wizard.

If you don't want to bother to fix a crippled OS then try copying out the data using the DVD or Repair CD: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console or use free Paragon rescue disk; recover data.

If your data is not there then try Recuva - Features

Then follow these Clean Reinstall steps

You can always use CD's to back up music and photos!!

1. I don't have another computer so I can't download anything(I'm on my phone)

Why do you think there's no OS on the System? Did you delete it? If so use Partition Wizard bootable CD Partition Recovery Wizard.

If you didn't delete it but it's just not showing up for repair then follow the steps I gave you to see if you can get it to show up for repair.

When you browse with the DVD to find your files, does it see a Windows folder?

Since you seem to have forgotten how to do a clean reinstall since I helped you do several a year or two ago, read up here: Reinstalling Windows 7

Use Microsoft Security Essentials.

Dear Mitch,
In one of your early replies you mentioned that there are music and Photos on the Drive which i surmise you do not mind losing. This seems to be the for not taking backups and not buying an External Hard disk. IMO, investing on an External Drive is worth it's weight in Gold!

Forgive me for asking whether you know how to do a clean install. If you're unsure as to go about it, look up these websites on a friend's PC: Windows 7 installation how-to, step by step - Computerworld and Install Windows 7: The Ultimate Step-by Step Guide Take a printout
as to how to proceed with the installation. The second website is easy to understand.
While installing create at least 3 Drives. Keep the music and photos on the D drive, so that you can take a Backup and Restore on the 3rd drive or the external Hard drive (which you'll be buying),using the free version of MACRIUM REFLECT:macrium.com/ReflectFree.asp

Ok.
So my brother has came home and fixed my problem.
I wasnt there to see how he fixed it but he did tell me, so i will try my best to tell you guys.

I think he said, that he installed a copy of Windows onto his external hard drive, He was then able to find my data, and so he copied them to the drive as well. He then formatted the hard drive, installed Windows Vista on it, then put 7 on it. And thats how he did it ( i think..)
