Some one mentioned Brink is an alien but there are others here; A Guy is an alien for sure and oh so many more of them.

They were sent here to teach us mere mortals in all things digital and technical and the amazing thing is they do it without giving away their true identity. I only know of brink and A Guy because they abducted me after I had posted a joke regarding men are from Mars and sometimes I think my wife is from hell.

I wish they would have just banned me instead; their true identity is frightening.

One possibility that was discussed on a show I saw some time ago was that we may just be "uninteresting" or perhaps we're not up to their technology level to be noticed. The comparative was to a anthill next to a freeway. Ants have a highly evolved society, however humans are on their own level on the intelligence scale and we take no notice of them.

The same thing could be occurring when it comes to extraterrestrial life. For all we know, there could be a interstellar highway right through our solar system, but like the ants, they take no notice of us.

But it's hard to say, maybe they occasionally drop by, either to keep tabs on us, or for a good laugh....

I must admit something that I have not considered is the possibility that the universe is much more dangerous than we can imagine and many civilisations have just been wiped out by naturally occurring events before they can explore or contact others. Let's face it our knowledge is pretty primitive with respect to this issue.

It shouldn't come as any surprise to us at all. Do you remember what happened to the Shoemaker-Levy 9 comet? What do you think would have happened had it impacted earth?

For scale, the Great Red Spot on Jupiter is the same size as Earth.

Considering the size of the Unviverse, number of Stars(suns) and planets .. even if the chance of life was 1 in a million theres still a incredible chance for other life.


It seems to me that Earth being the only planet with life is a far less likely possibility than if other life exists out there.


Now, whether any are capable of inter-steallar travel is a different matter. But I would think at least a few have figured it out. And if thats the case, they likely could care less about us. Too primitive.

True, was quite daunting when the size of it was taken into account. I wonder what would happen if our moon had some nasty event - most of the time we worry solely about the Earth.

For all of you eagerly anticipating first contact, you won't have to wait very long, however they will not be what they seem.
