Can't open Intel ® Extreme graphics control panel suddenly

Hi I recently got a new laptop: HP Pavilion dv6-6b12ed

I have a Control panel from Intel where I could change the colors of my screen and other stuff, but I can't get it to open!

Here's my weird problem: It shows in the system tray but when I click it I see this:

When I try to click on it, or anywhere else, it disappears and the program won't open.
I've even tried ALL methods in this following link: Graphics — How to open the Intel® Graphics Properties window

I think the problem will be solved if I can re-install the driver, but I've no idea what to (un)install.

Help and advice would be appreciated.
If you need any additional info on my system specs, just ask me or look up my laptop specs.. .

Okay... I download a driver from Intel site, and it has been fixed BUT...
I can't switch to my HD 6770M Graphics card, instead of the Intel HD 3000 Graphics card. I Used to have a AMD Optimus thing but it's gone now! I get a Catalyst Control Panel with limited options now instead.

So I've done a system restore for time being, if anyone could explain to me how to fix all this crap.. It would be appreciated.

I couldn't find your computer information by googling it (I think the only link I saw was to this exact page, actually), and I didn't feel like scouring in various areas of the web to find it through abstraction.

Are you saying you have onboard video and a graphics card? Seems strange for a laptop. If that's the case you might have to disable the onboard video manually in the BIOS. If not, I have no idea what the issue is or maybe don't fully understand what the issue is.

I do have an onboard Intel HD graphics 3000 and an Radeon HD 6770M Graphics card. The point is that they can switch between those videocards in order to save battery when you don't need the good videocard.



What my issue is, is that my control panel from Intel doesn't open correctly.. And I believe the driver had to be re-installed or something. I stated in my previous post that doing so, kinda fked up the function to switch between the videocards, I lost the function in the AMD Catalyst control center to configure these options.

The newer version driver should be the better choice.
Just felt right to notice:

Did you sift through this readme? (kinda lengthy, didn't feel like it myself, heh) When you first received the computer, did it work? Because that would be very bad form, and would be that much stranger if it were the case. If it did, maybe there was some other software involved.

Have you tried installing the Intel drivers/software and AMD drivers/software in different orders? Maybe one likes to overpower the other somehow, like when I install Quicktime or something and it overtakes the file associations that I don't want it to have. Or maybe disabling one or the other in Device Manager and installing the drivers/software from there, then enabling the disabled one and doing the same for it.

Just throwing out ideas sporatically, sorry I'm not a sharpshooter when it comes to this.
