I will only buy one, if I have no choice, but I do not feel that I should have to in order to replace something that came with Windows 7 and should have worked in the first place.

Everything is not anything close to the search interface that was in Windows XP.

I tried Google. All of the answers are at least three years old and the same ones repeatedly. That is when they actually address the problem or even admit the search in Windows 7 is broken.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Besides converting to Linux-Unix.

OK, I saw a thread and someone posted "Agent Ransack". That was it, just Agent Ransack. I had no idea what that meant until now, so I ignored it.

This is the freeware ‘locked down’ (whatever that means I suppose I will be finding out soon) version of FileLocator Pro or non-professional version of FileLocator Lite.

Yes! This works. I still don’t know what ‘locked down’ means, but it doesn’t seem to interfere with the functionality of the program. Nicest thing to happen all weekend. 8-)

Thanks, WinDude.
