A few things to note:

I've already reset the AT&T modem multiple times, and my attempts were to no avail.

How this issue came about: My internet disconnected for about 2 minutes (randomly, I suppose) and ever since then the wired connection has been "unidentified."

A few pictures that may help clear things up:

I am using an Asoka PlugLink for my wired connection, it worked for 6 months with no issues. It was never bumped, I believe it is working fine and not what is causing the issue.

My laptop has the same issue, so the issue is network-sided, not computer-sided.

My wireless internet disconnects every 3 minutes for no apparent reasons, the AT&T technician had no idea what was causing the error. However, using the Asoka PlugLink, I was able to use the LAN connection with no trouble at all, up until now.

The diagnosis is that the connection has an invalid IP configuration, but as I said, it's most likely a network sided issue, as it happened on two computers simultaneously.

Hi for the time being take the homeplugs out of the equation and connect direct to the router.

I notice the subnet mask is 255.255.0.0.

If you poen your webbrowser and navigate to the routers ip address 172.16.0.1 login with username and password and go to Lan ip setup or name for on your brand of router and find your routers ip address and the subnet mask and change the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 a re-boot of router may be required.

Update the ethernet card drivers to the latest from the computer or vendor website as 2xg advised.

Hi 2xg:)

Hi 2xg:)

Thanks, but that didn't change anything.

Also, I cannot connect it to the router, as my desktop is in the other room.

Hence the reason for the homeplugs i understand.

On the Local Area Connection try disabling the ipv6 by right clicking and going into properties and remove checkmark from Internet Protocol Version TCPIPv6 click ok.

And the drivers have been updated.

No luck, but as previously stated it's most likely network related.

Because of the wireless disconnecting that could be interference or signal i can understand that you think the two are tied in it could well be but not neccessarily.

Have AT&T done line quality tests?

Limited connectivity can also be outdated drivers on a particular system. I would update them even just to eliminate them.

After updating the drivers and if still limited connectivity please try the following:

Open a cmd prompt by right clicking and choosing run as administrator and type:

netsh int ip reset reset.log press enter
netsh winsock reset catalog press enter
nbtstat -R press enter
nbtstat -RR press enter
ipconfig /flushdns press enter and restart pc

Bump.

Still haven't found a solution.

Again, it's either router related, or a problem with my Asoka.

Do you have any other computers in the household that successfully connect to the router wired or wirelessly and have no disconnect problems?

If you do please connect them up via asoka do they have connection problems same as your desktop?
