Hello,

I've been having quite a lot of issues with my laptop (Inspiron 1545) recently. A few months ago I wasn't able to get into Windows 7 at all, and so quite a bit later (yesterday) I re installed/reformatted Windows 7, and it worked for about a day, but now I am frequently receiving BSOD error 0x000000F4, and now I can't get into Windows without using safe mode, but even with safe mode I am receiving BSOD (quite often, although I've been on for around 30 mins and no problems as of yet).

I know next to nothing about how to solve this, all I know is I use this A LOT, so I wouldn't be surprised if something has melted (or w/e). My laptop is also making a sort of buzzing noise, which I haven't noticed until it started making problems...

By the way, I'm using OS Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit on an Inspiron 1545, anymore details (as I'm not sure this is enough) then let me know!

Thanks in advance (by the way bear in mind I don't know much when answering please <3).

Does the error message contain more detail than you posted? If so, please post the entire error.

Yes it does, but the BS is only on the screen for a few seconds and the error is quite long... I'll try to get it all but it may take a while, sorry.

Is Windows 7 . . .
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ?
32bit
- the original installed OS on the system?
Nope, it has been reinstalled
- an OEM or full retail version?
OEM
- OEM = came pre-installed on system
- Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer

- What is the age of system (hardware)?
About 3 years
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?)
It has been reinstalled, so a day.

NOTICE:

I was unable to a system health report. I've been trying for about an hour, but it keeps coming up with the message "cannot find path specified" when trying to create a report. I have looked for solutions but none of them have worked, and in your 'System health report' thread this error isn't dealt with. I don't know what else to say really - I can't do this bit.

I'm sure I've messed up the attachments as well, sorry.

About the error code:

I haven't had a blue screen in ages, so I'm not sure if I will be able to get it all today, sorry.

Ah this is completely out of my depth. I don't want to spend another day seeing if I have problem number 327 just to find out I could actually have problem 400 up to 800 and having to take my laptop apart to do so.

Thanks for your help, though, I just don't think this is worth my time.

F4 usually indicates a hard disk problem; it could be data corruption, a bad disk, a loose connection between the disk and motherboard, corrupted controller drivers, or even a virus. If you fill in your system specs and follow the http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html (which you can do in safe mode with networking), it would really help us to narrow down the problem and provide more specific troubleshooting. If you prefer to give up, that is an option, but you did come on here asking for help, so we are doing our best with the information given.
