Random BSOD 0x9C

Windows 7 x64 is the original installed OS on the system, and is an OEM version. System was purchased September of 2010, OS was re-installed June or July of 2011.

System randomly generates a BSOD with 0x9c. May happen at anytime, whether gaming or just web surfing... No overclock of any system parts at all.

Problematic Software:

We do not recommend automated driver update software. It often finds drivers for devices similar to but not exactly the same as the hardware actually on the system. This can lead to conflicts and blue screen crashes. If you need help finding driver updates for a certain device, please start a thread in Drivers - Windows 7 Forums instead of using software. Driver updates are not always necessary and some updates can actually decrease system stability rather than increase it, so it is usually better not to update unless a device or its driver is causing problems with the system. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.


Next thing of concern is all of your startup programs and services. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...ation-conflicts-performing-clean-startup.html and keep only MSC active in startup programs. As in that tutorial, hide all Microsoft Services in the Services tab and turn off all non-Microsoft services.

I uninstalled Drivermax, and followed the instructions for a clean startup as provided.

As the problem has been fairly random, I am not sure when it may appear again, if it does I will post, if I don't see it occur I will post that too. Thanks
