How do I stop autohide taskbar from being autoticked?

Hey,

I bought a Asus U36J laptop back in April of last year and ever since then I have been beating around an issue that I dont seem to be able to resolve one way or the other. When ever the laptop is on battery and in battery saving mode it has my taskbar on autohide. If I turn that off, then it stays off right until it is put back into battery saving mode at which point it is "magically" ticked on again.

Is there no way to simply disable that feature, as its annoying me greatly. I know its tied into the battery saving desktop, and I want to keep the battery saving desktop but want a full taskbar all the time. I found a supposed fix to make that happen, and while it actually makes the taskbar appear all the time, it still is a bad hack as any windows I have open wont "attach" to the taskbar but attaches to the buttom of the screen.

So for the love of god is there no sane way for me to keep the battery saving desktop but get rid of the autohiding taskbar. Otherwise I know Asus most likely wont be my laptop of choice next time aroumd.

But i hope someone might have the magical solution I am looking for as I am just about to give up.

Found this:

1.Open Task Manager->BatteryLife.exe->End Process
2.Go to C:\ProgramData\P4G open P4G.ini and change TASKBAR=1 to TASKBAR=0 save and close
3.Go to C:\Program Files\P4G and run BatteryLife.exe
4.Change power plan from whatever to something else except Battery Saving
5.Taskbar is still auto-hide, right-click on taskbar->Properties and uncheck Auto-hide the taskbar
6.Change power plane to Battery Saving wait 5 seconds to deactivate sidebar or what is set in your Battery Saving plan and now put what power plan you want, the taskbar should not auto-hide anymore.

Well, the battery saving plan is designed to auto hide the taskbar. So this appears to be a workaround

I realise this is a year-old post, but I'm posting the solution anyway for anyone (like me) who recently ran into this problem and started scouring the computer-problems forums for answers. I had the EXACT same issue as OP, just saying - ASUS laptop, Battery saving power plan, and my taskbar would go on autohide (as well as my desktop background resetting to default'. I couldn't find the solution online but I did play around with the power options and eventually stumbled across the solution. So for anyone else with this problem, right click on your battery icon and go to 'power options'. Next to the battery savings option (which should be checked when your laptop isn't plugged in), go to 'change plan settings'. Then when that window pops up click on 'change advanced power settings'. Expand 'ASUS P4G Power Setting', then expand 'battery saving desktop'. If I'm right, it should say that this function is 'disabled' while plugged in but 'enabled' while unplugged; change the setting to 'disabled' for both if this is the case. Voila! The problem should be fixed
