Sometimes when I put the PC into Hibernation, the process takes several minutes then shuts down.

Display adapter: ATI Radeon HD 5450
System board: MSI UK ? Mainboard - G41M-P28
Network adapter: Atheros AR8131 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller

I've installed the drivers for the display adapter that came with the card and the ethernet controller on the system board.

Security Software: ??? Make sure to install security software. I recommend either of these:
After installing your security software, update it, and then run full scans today with each program. Report back the results of the scans.

Please remove any CD/DVD virtualization software, such as Daemon Tools/Alcohol 120%, as they use a driver called sptd.sys that is known to cause BSODs. Use add/remove programs to remove the software. After removing the software, use the sptd.sys uninstaller to remove sptd.sys from the system.

I prefer TotalMounter as my CD/DVD virtualization software as it allows me to burn images to a virtual CD/DVD if I just want an ISO file instead of a disc, and it is free.

Many use MagicISO - Convert BIN to ISO, Create, Edit, Burn, Extract ISO file, ISO/BIN converter/extractor/editor as well, which is also free.

Your Atheros Ethernet driver is causing your crashes. You switched from L1C62x86.sys to L1C60x86.sys, so you may have the wrong driver installed. The driver should be installed from your motherboard support site. MSI UK ? Mainboard - G41M-P28 -> Atheros 8131 LAN drivers.

I also wonder if maybe the crashes are not actually caused by your Applian Network Service/Applian Technologies APPLIAND helper driver. See if you can find an update for that, as well. If not, try removing it and seeing if the system is stable during the hibernation sequence.

When I installed Windows 7, the on-board network adapter was recognised by the operating system and an appropriate driver installed. I didn't need to install the MSI driver. I originally thought that I should do this, so I downloaded MSIs driver but crashes are still happening.

The same thing with my ATI Radeon 5450 display card. Windows went away and found drivers and I again assumed that this may be the cause of my problems so I used the drivers that came with the card.

So, using the original/proper drivers, I'm still getting crashes. I think at this stage the display and network drivers are the correct ones.

I'm still trying the other stuff.....

Thanks for your help so far.

I've spent most of the weekend 'hibernating' and since I've removed 'Replay Media Catcher', which uses Applian drivers, and there's no more crashing!

I'll search for some more Applian-specific issue help.

Thanks for your help.
