Solved Simple straightforward hard drive cloning software?

All partitions have descriptive labels now. Now you know what's what! Eventually you can label C as WindowsOS or Win7 for example.

When copying is complete and windows boots it sees both new partitions and assigns a drive letter to them! But they are only backups and shouldn't be used by win7. So deassign the drive letter to both backup partitions using disk management. Do you understand?

Has win7 old already service pack 1?

after applying it takes many hours to complete!! it has to copy 800GB of data! That's why I told you not to apply. But I think it doesn't ask for a reboot, so you can work with computer (slowly)

After partitition wizard has finished.... win7 (maybe after reboot) sees the new partitions and assigns drive letters to them. Deassign the drive letters to (backup).

Once it's done! The backup partitions aren't available now, they have to be created! deassign drive letters in win7 disk management.

In partition wizard you have just defined some actions and you see the result visual. But the actions didn't actually occur yet!! Press apply and they start

Did you have "automatic updates" enabled in the old win7 installation? So every now and then it was installing win7 updates? If so service pack was installed automatically months ago. The service pack 1 includes the patch I suggest to install many posts back.

I tended to avoid automatic updates, they really annoyed me. Occasionally it installed some, I don't know whether it will have it or not. Mind you the install was made around mid last year I suppose...maybe later? I would say it probably does have it, but I cant be sure.

Its created the partition, I can see that, but I assume its still copying stuff over or something because it shows up as a blank, "healthy (primary partition)"

Stupid!! There are many security vulnerabilities fixed in it.

I hope SP1 wasn't installed and the sysprep fix will fix your problems.
Does Partition Wizard say how long it takes to finish? Or does it say some percentage and can you calculate it yourself?

You didn't have a single probl;em with security... hahahaha lol. How do you know??? Hackers and websites can damage you OS without you noticing it.

If you have SP1 you already have the fix, so the fix doesn't fix it. That's why I hope SP1 and so the fix isn't installed yet

1GB partition has been created. And probably also filled with data (?). I think Partition Wizard just hide it till it finishes. It's type is not NTFS yet.

1% in 20 minutes???? So maybe 1.99% in 20 minutes. So 1% in 10 minutes. Takes at least 1000 minutes if it's correct

It can be damaged but I don't think so yet. Please make a recalculation how long it takes. For example how long does it take from 2 to 3%?
