Hi Noel, thank you for getting back to me, I hope your head is not too sore from your drinks down the pub.
I have just reset my password etc for the forum so will now be able to link up on my laptop.
I have written in red, in answer and also to clarify on certain instructions.

2) Yes, this is normal, unless you created an Extended partition, containing Logical drives - the default on partitioning is to create Primaries. Brilliant, that's solved then.
3) That's perfectly normal - leave it aloneI'll deal with the Boot Options menu later
4) Since you obviously have a proper install disk, there's no need to create a Boot Disk - it won't usually do anything for you that the install disk can't. Does this mean if I ever wipe everything off the laptop, I would be able install from my Microsoft Disc as a boot install?
OK - to the boot options problem.
Please tell us exactly what the screen looks like currently (has a third option crept in?) I am assuming you mean the screen when i immediately switch on the laptop. I have a black screen that highlights on of three (with 20 seconds countdown) the highlighted one is selected. The Black Screen reads:
Windows 7 (this is the one highlighted and opperating with correct install)
Windows 7
Windows 7 Loader XE
Please also run the following commands in an elevated command prompt, and copy/paste the results to your reply Sorry, I am a bit thick when it comes to computer tech, what screen do I type the below in, and if this is in the black boot screen what do I need to select to get into the correct screen to type this? Also how do I copy this page, is this with screenprint or ctrl c? Many thanks!
BCDEDIT /enum
BCDEDIT /enum /v
Note that you can copy the output to Notepad, and transfer the files to your laptop (as well as the screen capture of the Disk Management tool) using a USB stick, or across the network (if you put the files in the Public folder) if you have one.
