How do I get my monitor to see full res?

Hello everyone! I have this problem and it all started by updating my video drivers. I am running an ATI Radeon HD 5750 made by HIS. I have tried many things from setting in Catalyst. I get it to set to fill the LED screen, but as soon as I reboot it goes back to the small screen res. Here some pic to show you what I mean. The monitior is hooked up from HDMI to DVI cord. I'm getting frustrated and can't seem to find a solution. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Cyberbuzz,

I am sure you already tried this, but have you right clicked desktop, clicked "screen resolution" selected 1920x1080 and applied it?

I doubt this will cure it but I have to ask.

Hello Paul, Ya when I right click then screen resolution it says its 1920x1080. I went to catalyst and goto the scale options and upscale the screen to fit, but when restarting your back to the same problem and have to reset the scale option.

You say your using HDMI to DVI. In this setup are you using an adapter? How is the cable being connected, which end is plugged into what device? This might be part of your problem.

With HDMI cables, the only advantage to using them is to carry sound. If your monitor doesn't have built in speakers then I would just use a DVI cable. It carries the same HD quality as an HDMI cable but with out the sound.

My monitor have DVI and HDMI inputs so my first pc is hooked by DVI and my second pc is hooked up by HDMI to DVI.

When I press the auto button the screen shows HDMI 1080 60Hz
