Well, if you see the history of this thread I uploaded all the files needed for you guys to see what's running on my system and I already uninstalled 'a lot'.

I am thinking ... if it would be possible to see the situation physically.

Can you upload a video ? Or TeamViewer may be a way out.

What do you mean by "tl;dr" ?

Yeah, I think Virtual Clone Drive isn't contributing to any delay also. But is it a recommended software or does it have the potential to BSOD one's system?

It looks to me like Karl was trying to get a smooth running system. After that, if you added something back, and didn't experience the original problem, all is well. I don't believe he was specifically saying any or all of those programs were bad. Somewhat like this approach:

Yeah but the thing is that I isolated it down to the MSE program as the culprit? I mean as soon as I disable real-time protection I get super-fast loading (almost instantly) of icons which is the rate that I was expecting. Doesn't that suggest that it is the culprit?

I already uninstalled a lot of programs but as long as MSE's real-time protection is enabled, then yeah, there goes the issue no matter what drive/directory I look into.

I would agree to an extent. Assuming something isn't conflicting with MSE. But if you can have all your other programs and no problem...Try Avast, I am more then happy with it and no conflicts with any of my other security programs. A Guy

Right. How does Avast compare to MSE? Is Avast free? Never used that AV program.

Thanks. If there is no fix with MSE, I might have to switch to Avast And that is against my will but have no choice.

Yes, windows defender is a dedicated anty-spyware , but sometimes it is said that it is not very efficient, as Windows Defender Offline or Microsoft Security Essentials are.

I would say that you dont disable it. Avast will not come with a performance clash with Windows Defender at all, as their target areas are different.

What I am really eager to know that if changing your AV program fixes the issue for you.

I have it disabled, but I have Malwarebytes and Superantispyware real time protection as well. Arc is right (again ) Avast will not conflict with Defender. A Guy

Oh ok. So I keep Windows Denfer and Avast! ENABLED.

And yes, I just changed to Avast! and it did fix my issues as well as the same issue that is present on over all my computer (10 of them).
