Solved ntoskrnl.exe BSOD at shutdown/restart!

HI,
I was going to post in an old thread, but it was 193 days old with no resolution, so I have decided to post a new post, (per the instructions on the page here)

Back in March, I installed 2 x Corsair Force Series GT CSSD-F120GBGT-BK 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive's (SSD) Into my computer, set up as a RAID 0. I was running great!

Something else happened that I had something running in the background that was taking all my band with for my uverse and I couldn't go on line without lagging. So after a few months of troubleshooting, I decided to put a clean install of Windows 7. back on. After the install I got a few BSOD's but I proceeded to move on and update windows first, before I tried troubleshooting this problem. Remembering from a previous BSOD issue I had, I proceeded to go to my device manager and DISABLE one of my High Definition Audio Controller's (the one that my video card was not using). This fixed one of the 3 BSOD issues.

The next BSOD I got was in relation to driver_power_state_failure, this only happened once and according to the BSOD message I got, I need not worry unless it keeps happening, which, so far, it has not.

The 3rd BSOD message I got was the ntoskrnl.exe.. This occured when I was finished updating windows and going to restart. I was frozen in "Shutting Down" for over 15 minutes, but I let it do it's thing, then I got a message that windows recovered from a serious error, which I then ran "Who Crahsed" and found the following:

The things I have read on line, faulty memory, hardware, non-updated drivers ect., I tend to disagree with a bit, as I just reformatted and downloaded all the latest drivers from all the manufacturers of the devices I own.

I am also attaching my BSOD dump files for your review. Which this I had a hard time with. I used the tool from the forums here and it never created a folder. So, I tricked it and was able to create one on my own...let me know if I'm missing anything?

Hello there!

Seems like the crash dump is pointing to CD ROM driver so try to update the drivers or reinstall the driver. Updated the SSD Firmware as well it one of the common cause for BSOD.

Uninstall Asus Utilities

ASACPI.sys       Thu May 14 06:55:17 2009 (4A0B72FD)

This is a known driver for causing BSOD.

Can you tell which CD ROM it is? I have 4 installed...2 are Samsung DVD and 2 are DELL....I'll check on both to see if there are any updated drivers and/or firmware....

Based on the eventlogs and BSOD

It looks like the second BSOD was caused by Window Activation technology...and fault bucket to an event AEAPPINV2. Is the Window Genuine ???

The third BSOD was most probably caused by Origin before its crashed the Desktop Window Manager & Explorer.exe

The following application attempted to veto the shutdown: Origin.exe.

Yes, Windows is Genuine. Not sure why Origin caused a BSOD...but I'll uninstall it and re-install it..

Unfortunatly this is all Greek to me...but Since my first post about this issue, I had to reformat again..I ran into other issue. However, after reformatting, I still have this issue. I am attaching another Diag tool result for your review. This only happens when I shut down or restart..

If someone can please advise me, I would greatly appreciate it...

I'm in the process of updating my Firmware and drivers for my DVD Drives..However, They are not supported...If you can figure out which one is causing this issue, I'll remove it...as I only use it to play games that require a CD to play the game...

Could you post the saved logs from Event viewer for system and application as the logs posted doesnt have the logs after 8/8/2012 1:45 pm

I thought I added everything....but I re-ran the Diag-Tool...Please let me know what else you might need and how I may go about getting that to you....

Still the logs are not complete

here's what you can do
1. Click in start > Run and type in eventvwr or on the start menu search , type event viewer.

2. Once its up and running, go to System and do save the logs as shown below

3. Do the same for Application..

4. Save them both in .evtx format and then upload here.

You have problem with the disk controller for WD My Book 1140 USB device..... as Acronis Backup service is trying to do backup to this disk where BSOD happened.....

Try disabling the backup to this device....

One more thing.... try not to plug any other drive in the same port where WD My Book has been.... lets isolate it for the time being and check .

You have problem with the disk controller for WD My Book 1140 USB device..... as Acronis Backup service is trying to do backup to this disk where BSOD happened.....

Try disabling the backup to this device....

I've changed this to my internal 1 TB HDD now...I'll see if I still get this error and post back...Does it show anywhere in those log's/files what would cause my USB ports to take over 1 min to come to life after I boot up to my desktop (which takes 13 seconds now with 2 x 120 GB SSD drives in a RAID 0) or should I post this in another area?

One more thing.... try not to plug any other drive in the same port where WD My Book has been.... lets isolate it for the time being and check .

I usually don't move them...I have a big tower and don't feel like turning it around...as a matter of fact, I don't usually unplug much..only to Trouble Shoot...I mainly Game on this thing...and occasionally surf the web...

Just a word of advice...... Your minimum power supply requirement is 850W based on the details you have provided in your profile....See below.... this is taken from your motherboard manufacturers site asus. Try it yourself as well

So based on the above, your rig is way under-powered... could also be the reason why your usb take over a min or 13 sec .... Do have a look into this !!

No, not yet... I'm still troubleshooting...still having the problem
I actually think it might have been the drivers for my ATA DVD/CD recorder.. Right now they are disabled in the BIOS, and uninstalled and haven't had the issue yet, but it happens randomly...will have to wait...sorry...

UPDATE:

I believe this was the problem!! I have not gotten 1 single BSOD in a week now...with many restarts and leaving the PC up and running for a day or too as well!!!

My external (USB)Western Digital 3TB HDD for some reason was trying to take priority or at least it was turning off all my USB devices. I now have that plugged into a USB Hub and all is working perfectly!!! Thanks for all your help and suggestions!!!!

Everything works at start up (Boot Up) with in less than 15 seconds!!!! I'm a happy camper now....or should I say Gamer Now!!...
