Connected to Internet - browsers won't load

Hi there,
I am using windows 7 64 bit. I am connected to the Internet however IE nor Firefox will load? I am not sure what to do? I am a uni student and desperately need the Internet to complete an assignment, any help is much appreciated

I completed a 'sfc' scan in command prompt, it came back stating that there was corrupt files that were unable to be fixed. That the details are in the CBS log - tried to access the CBS log - however it says access denied?!

If you can't pass the sfc/scannow test then your machine is hosed bro.

Try using system restore or try a start up repair from the Windows CD.
