Disk management healthly partition

Hi. I got my PC with Win vista then did an upgrade to win 7. And i looked in my disk management and noticed i had 13.5% pertition that is a backup that acer put on. But its 100% free so its no good really. But im not botherd about it now because in Oct i will be putting the full Win 7 on when released (doing a clean install) And wonderd if that will go and i will just have my main HDD partition there, thus having 13.5 more gigs.

During the install process, you were/will be presented the opportunity to manage partitions.

Remember the screen where you selected which volume to install Windows on? Look at that screen closely in October. You will be able to delete both partitons and recreate a single larger one if you want to. Win7 will then recreate its own 100MB recovery partition.

ok then thanks. so i'll delete it then on install. I take it there is an advanced setting when you get to install it.

Be careful. Sometimes system recovery partitions are formatted with a proprietary filing system that is only recognised by the BIOS (and the program that enables you to create a recovery set of discs).

The partition tool in reference is the Windows 7 setup disk.

edit: that was dumb. Dwarf has a good point - it may be a good idea to keep your recovery partition intact if your machine is still under warranty. Acer won't honor the warranty if Vista has been upgraded to 7.

na it dont matter about warrenty. Iv;e done some mods to it now anyways and the partition as you can see is 100% full so its no good. I dont like keeping recovery or backup of stuff on my pc only on externall hardrives. So i just want it gone and 1 partition when i put win 7 on.

Hey i have acer aspire x3200 too. But i have windows 7 now, but i want my vista back and her is my question how can i do that. i have not deleted all form vista i have a folder in programs there it is under "windows old"

plz help me!!

It is possible to reinstall from the Windows.old folder. It is not particularly straightforward unless you are comfortable with the command prompt.

Do you still have the original recovery partition?

don`t know were to find it...

i don`t known were to find it. when i reboot i press everything+F10 but that dosen`t work anymore!
and my computer have all the drivers... i dot`t need a cd to install drivers..
