How to revert back to my Default Shell in Windows 7(64 bit)

i have installed a new desktop customization tool in my laptop running Windows 7.
the default shell got replaced,and now i can't see the start menu, my wallpaper isn't there,the right click on desktop doesn't work,all in all i am stuck.

now i want to revert back to the default windows shell,i don't want to format my computer because i have so many softwares installed.

i need help in this regard,please help me,i am really stuck.

pushing the 'windows' key should bring up the start menu--which should allow access to the control panel--then remove the 'customization' software.

Do this tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html it will not harm any data or programs you have installed it will try to find and repair any corrupt system files that you have.

Post a link to the theme you used.

i even tried to restore the system to a back date...but it didn't work out....

i tried to find a solution to it....someone somewhere said that it will get fixed if i delete the customized shell from the windows registry....

Odd, it looks like quite a diffent shell. If our expert Bongo doesn't have more ideas, I'd post at their own forums

7. What if I don’t like Emerge Desktop?

It is really easy to go back to Explorer if for some reason you don’t like Emerge. By right clicking anywhere on the desktop (i.e. the background image or area) you will get a menu. Under the Settings menu, select the Change Desktop Shell option, and from the drop list select Windows Explorer and click on Change. Reboot or logoff to restart Windows, now with Explorer as shell. If you really didn’t like Emerge Desktop, you can uninstall it now, safely. (In fact you can uninstall it in one step, just as safely: with Emerge Desktop as shell, right click on the desktop and from the menu select Start Menu, Programs, Emerge Desktop, Uninstall. After rebooting your system will be back to Explorer and all traces of Emerge Desktop will be removed.

Hmmm, he mentioned in his 1st post right click on desktop didn't work This really complicates things.
