With more than 28,500 posts under your belt, I think you're being refreshingly modest.
So, I've been fooling around with allocating some RAM, with RAMDisk, for browser caches and system temp files to see if it would have any effect on the winsat mem test or the WEI. The effects were negligible, if anything at all, for the winsat mem test (-100 Mb/s or so) and completely nonexistent for the WEI.
Now, I realize that for the modern SSD wear and tear may not be anything to be too concerned about. After all, my SSD has a 5 year warranty. But my RAM has a lifetime warranty and it provides some psychological comfort to know that all those R/W's are not going to my SSD. And as a side benefit (from my perspective) my browsers have a little more pep and all those files just disappear evertime I shut down my computer. I prefer not to save them as long as it doesn't seem to observably effect performance and it doesn't.
My thinking is that with my User folders and the Program Data folder on D:/ and my Browser caches and temp files going to K:/ , my little 60GB C:/ drive should stay fairly clean and lean with only the OS, a few utilities and just a couple of larger programs and suites like Calibre & LibreOffice. I haven't had any hiccups yet and I've been playing with everything I can think of for about 16 hours total so far.
I know this is tangentially off topic, but I thoght it was relavent. Sorry, If I should have posted this somewhere else. Still learning the ropes around here.
