Hi,

I seem to have a problem with my Medion Akoya Netbook, which operates Windows 7 ultimate. Until yesterday I had no problem accessing the internet. But after I updated and ran Avast! (free virus protection) and ran Reg Cure Pro (Clean Up-progam), I could not access the internet anymore. It says I am connected, but that there is no internet access. We share the router with 5 people, but the others don't seem to have any problem. So I think i'ts nothing to do with the router. (a solution I keep finding on the windows-anwser-pages)

I have been surfing an searching all day allready and troubleshooting my own ideas, but nothing seems to work. It seems a lot of people are getting this problem, but it also seems there is a variaty of ways to fix it. None of them work for me.

So that is why I'm asking for specific help here. I copy-pasted the info about my connections through command promp (I found out to do so on this forum). So I was wondering if someone is able to help and advise me. Thx!

Hi first try using system restore to restore to a date before reg cure was installed as registry cleaners can do more harm than good.

Please let us know the results.

Seems to me that you are not connected to the router. As there is no default gateway. That is why you have the APIPA (169.254.245.29)

could you go to the following:
Start - Control Panel - Network and Internet - Network and Sharing Centre

And post a screen shot of that screen please.

Thx for replying so fast! Hope to fix it as fast too ;)

@The Cyberman: That was one of the first things I did. First I restored to the Reg Cure-restore point without effect. Secondly I restored with the Automatic Restore Point generator. I also uninstalled Avast!-antivirus, I figured it might be the version-upgrade that ****ed things up. But also without effect.

@benjy206: Indeed my laptop seems to have problems identifying/getting acces to the router. But I truely don't know how to fix this. I made the screenshot yopu asked for and also some other screenshots that might be relevant, I don't realy know. Because the problem aslo seems to be happening when I try to connect with a LANcable, I also made a screenshot of this.
Then I made a screenshot af the modem it detects when looking in the "network"-section in windows explorer. The modem we have is a cbn model CH6541E used by the belgian webprovider Telenet. To me it looks to be the wrong one it recognizes (maybe the one of the neigbours...). I also don't find the 8-digit Pincode on the modem it asks to give in.
An other thing that might be relevant here is that in the "Advanced Sharin Settings", I don't seem to be able to turn on the "network discovery".
Lastly I did some troubleshooting and have a screenshot from the result of the "Homegroup Troubelshooting" as a paste of the "Network Troubleshooting" here:

1. Is this the only computer affected or are all computers on the network affected also?
2. Try connecting the computer direct to the modem and see if you have internet connectivity using an ethernet cable.

Ya it seems to be the modems config? You can see that in one picture there he is connected to "telenet-3C02C".

Try as CyberMan say's connected the cable directly to the modem.

Yes, this laptop is the onlyone experiencing the problem. The one I'm using right now for example is on the same modem.
And these screenshots were allready from a cable directly to the modem...

from the pictures and diagnostics it appears telenet-3C02C is the Dlink DIR-615 SSID and that isnot the modem just a wireless router that is connected to a modem.

Will await confirmation from OP.

Thanks for confirmation.

1. Download the latest drivers for your ethernet adapter card and wireless adapter card from the computer manufacturer's website if a branded computer or if a custom or self built computer from the motherboard manufacturer's website.

Use another computer to download drivers and copy to a USB stick and then transfer to probmatic computer and install the drivers and restart computer.

2. Open a cmd prompt by right clicking and choosing run as administrator and type:

netsh int ip reset reset.log press enter
netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log press enter
netsh winsock reset catalog press enter
ipconfig /flushdns press enter and restart computer.

Check internet connectivity using ethernet connection and let us know what the results are please.

Well, I did what you said. downloaded the drivers from Realtek for Ethernet and from Intel for Wireless. Installed them, restarted, tried to reset in cmd prompt. But it gave me a problem with the flush dns... (see first screenshot) then I restarted and tried the connection, but still the same problem. Also there seems to be created a new virtual wirelless connection or something... (screenshot 4)
