I moved boot manager files

I did a factory restore on my my computer. It was a success ,but when I do this the hard drive is smaller than before i restored. I when to disk management to try and extend the (C main drive, but the option to do so is grayed out, while the other drive (D I think had the boot manager file in it.

So what I did was move the files on the D: drive and then delete the volume and then was able to extend the C: drive volume.

But now the computer won't start up properly (on another computer) now all it shows are two folders with one sending papers to the other.

I don't know what happened I've done factory restores before and have run into the problem of a smaller hard drive and was able to fix it, I don't know what I did wrong this time.

Now my problem is after I do that they is a bunch of unallocated space and the main volume on the hard drive won't extend.

I know how to extend partions/volumes, but that D: is in the way. When I deleted D: The computer wouldn't start all all. Then I restored again and moved the files in D: to C: and deleted D: this time the events in the original post started to transpire

I didn't do 3 times. The first time I tried start up it said it couldn't find anything wrong.
But my problem now is to try and extend the C: hard drive

Your System Reserved ( hidden partition ) is your active partition and your D drive has the boot files . If you want to move your unallocated space to your C:\ partition you would need a 3rd party tool . Forgot the name of the program .

D:\ has the bootmgr file and the boot folder .

Would marking C: as active do anything by any chance?

Yes it will make the C:\ partition bootable .

Ok this time I didn't mark the newly formed C: as active. That seems to be what was causing the problem.
But Now I seem to have another problem
system prep tool 3.14 keeps popping up.

Looking it up apparently It is from rearming the system more than 3 times (which I have done to day)
