I am not essentially wanting to overclock, all I'd care about is the performance of both CPUs when pushing them to their limits. Hope you'll undestand.![]()
All I can go by is the review I read so far.
Based on that, if you only wanted to overclock Ivy or Haswell to 4.2ghz then Haswell will be faster and won't be too hot. If you want to go much higher then right now Ivy looks like the better option.
The good news is you don't need to buy for a month, by then there will be numerous reviews, benchmarks and user reviews on forums etc to give the full picture of what Haswell is like to overclock with.
Great, would be ample time then. Should I still get a Z87 mobo if I weren't to be getting a Haswell? Thanks.
