Internet not working with exception of Skype

Hello! As of late (Past week) I've been having problems with my internet. I cannot connect to any internet browsers or Steam, yet I can fully connect to Skype and still chat with my friends. I've tried looking up this problem, but none of the solutions seem to work. Could anybody help me with this?

Start at the beginning, see if there`s any problems in device manager.

Then right click on the network icon down in your lower right corner and choose troubleshoot problems.

Download the tool on a pc that could get on the net

Use a Flash Drive to move the DDS program from the working PC to the non working PC .

Running multiple anti virus software can be very problematic, McAfee, Avira, etc. can conflict with each other, after that you end up with unfixable connection problems.

If resetting TCP/IP and Winsock doesn't work then uninstalling the multiple A/V software's using the special uninstall tools would be my first choice.

To reset winsock and the TCP/IP stack run the following two commands one at a time typed into an elevated command prompt, hit Ok after each one then restart after running the commands.

netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)

netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack)

when the built-in uninstaller is finished click on Next.

I don't use Mcafee at all. I use Avira. McAfee is just on my computer, it doesn't even run.

It doesn't run but its still installed .

Might want to uncheck everything but your antivirus inside msconfig startup tab .

Click on rb: type msconfig inside Search programs and files search box press enter when you see msconfig under Programs (1) . If you get a User Access Control window click on the Yes button . On the System Configuration window click on the Startup tab . Uncheck everything but the Antivirus . Click Apply then OK buttons . Click Exit without restart and restart manually .

You don't need things running when the PC starts . Slows the PC down .

Uncheck McAfee . Remove McAfee using the removal tool

At the McAfee Software Removal screen, click Next

On your keyboard press the Windows logo ( rb: ) and the R letter . This will open the Run window in the lower left hand side of your monitor .

Inside the run command type one of the items below that goes with your Mcafee version and click OK

Type the removal string in bold for your version of VSE, then click OK.

None of those command prompts do anything.

Which version of the McAfee Enterprise do you have ? the /q command makes it quiet so you won't see anything come up . Once its done it will ( should ) restart the PC.

I don't even know what that is, but when I did all of those prompts, then ran the previous uninstaller, nothing happened.
