does DVD Shrink work in W7 64-bit?

My dvdshrink seems to work fine with w7 64-bit. It goes through all the regular processes but the resulting dvd does not work. I do the same on my xp system and it works fine.

Okay. I tried the the xp compatibility installation..no dice. I found a workaround that seemed to work fine though. I used dvdshrink to rip the video files to a folder, then used nero express to burn the dvd using those video files. The resulting dvd worked/played fine after that. I guess that means its something in the dvdshrink burning process that Win7 or my computer doesn't like. Thanks for the replies.

Lord make my word sweet, in case I have to eat them later...
If you ripping newer DVD's, this is the steps I take and it works 100% of the time.

First download and install DVDFab HD Decrypter, if installing for the first time it will give you a 30day trial that lets you rip the DVD but the trial will let you rip just the main title. So for the best 30 days no need for DVD Shrink.

After 30 days, the program will still work and will remain free but it only lets you rip the WHOLE disc.

What I usually do, at this point is set the quality to DVD9 output which will retain 100% of the quality. You can either output to ISO or regular DVD folder structure.

Then I run DVD Shrink, to retain just the main title and to shrink down to DVD5 standards. Since it doesn't take to long to encode probably 20 minutes max, I output to ISO image.

Then I burn the ISO using Imgburn at 4x speed and that's it.

GO WATCH YOUR MOVIE!!!

I can't say that ripping BD or DVD is correct. But making backups of ones you own should be allowed. Use Nero and AnyHDdvd then use this program called foxkiller to reset the trial period. Open the anyHDdvd then run the program. Keeping these in an ISO file works perfectly and will save you lots of dollars! Deamon tools will help.

Why not just buy it rather than hack it?

AnyDVD is a excellent program and is worth purchasing if encode/back up your discs.

I just recode mine into MKV or MP4 files with MeGUI.
If you don't mind file sizes, higher bit rates will look just as good as the original.
Still smaller than the full disc too.

From there you can set it all up in your Media Center fairly easily too, if you want.

Just tested it in Win7 x64. Looks like it works.

I have been trying to use this program since Win7 64 was installed..........it has never worked.

All of the recent downloads for the latest version have adware/spyware in them no matter what the source.

When I try to use the original V3.2 I am told that the program has stopped working..........no surprise there.

I get the following error message but have no idea what it means......does anyone?

Totally miffed that such a super program is so hard to upgrade/use.

add DVDshrink to DEP exceptions in Computer-Properties-advanced-Perfor

I was getting the same BEX/unknown module crashes on w7-32bit until I added it to DataExecutionPrevention exception list as suggested previously by papahood & Imiller867 on page 2, and stackoverflow.com.

rundll32 sysdm.cpl, NoExecuteAddFileOptOutList "FullPathTo_DVDshrink3.2.exe like C:\utils\DVD_Shrink\DVD Shrink 3.2.exe"

Preview works, reauthoring works, backup goes to HDD.
