Did I OC safetly?

Last night I decided to OC my 4100, the stock speeds are 3.6ghz and I OC'd to 4.5ghz. The only thing I changed was the core clock speed, I didn't change anything else, I ran prime95 for about an hour an all seemed fine. But I can't find a program which can see the temps of my 4100 so I decided to go back to stock speeds, does anyone know any programs which can monitor the AMD FX 4100 3.6ghz please.

Thanks, I get about 20-25 degrees idle and about 50 degrees using prime95's stress test.

That's pretty good. ... . now run a standard test using IntelBurnTest and report temps. They should go higher.

I think I might be doing something wrong, I ran the stress test using intel stress, CPU-Z shows my CPU core clock speed at 4.5ghz, but that other program called "HWiNFO64" says 2 cores are running at 4.5ghz, one at 2.5ghz and one at 3.9gh. Have I done something wrong?

My temps went up to about 50 degrees by the way

No, thats fine. HWINFO is just measuring actual speed of the 2 cores. Everything is OK.

i found that with AMD, the ONLY temps that are reliable are the ones that come from your mobo programs. so i would DL and install your mobos apps to see the temps. for AMD, dont go over 62C in prime.

Seems odd that all four of his cores aren't reading the same speed...

This is true Intel Burn test puts wicked strain on a AMD CPU

When running prime off a AMD machines the temps are more moderate

I have an AMD CPU, its not great, gets by with daily browsing and most of todays games at medium settings, ive OC'D to 2ghz, sits around 45C idle and 70-75C under stress, my CPU temp limit is around 115C

yeah, i have my own type of cooling system, not sitting it on my lap or a desk or anything im not sure if the 115C is correct (going by CoreTemp) but alot of people with my APU(CPU) have been able to OC to 2.5ghz im not silly enough to go that far when i dont need to

Type your cpu into google. it should then pull up a list, one of those should be one titled ARK open that and it should show all the specs of the cpu including it`s maximum temprature.

It will look like this.

Thanks for the help guys, I downloaded HW Monitor and everything seemed fine. I ran a torture test with prime95 and got about 55 degrees under full load and about 20-25 degrees idle. The core clock speeds now are all the same, around 4400mhz.

This is a nice site for CPU specs too. Type in the CPU in one of the 3 search boxes in the upper right.
It often has more info than the AMD or Intel pages do.
