Solved laptop's hdd can be used for desktop

The connectors on laptop HDDs and desktops are interchangeable. The only real differences is physical size (desktop drives are usually 3.5" and laptop drives are 2.5") and speed (desktop drives usually spin faster than laptop drives). Adapters are available to permit installing a 2.5" drive in a 3.5" bay.

You may be disappointed using a laptop drive in a desktop unless the drive is a 7200 rpm unit (most run at 5400 rpm) and it has enough capacity for your needs.

ye i just plan upgrading my laptops hdd to a ssd so i wont need the hdd...so i plan to place it in my desktop for storage only

so what connectors or adapter do i need whats the name

Yep mate as I said they are standard sizes so as long as you have the correct I/O ie SATA or IDE it makes no difference at all. In fact if you bought an enclosure for it you could make it an external.
