So I recently bought a brand new PC and assembled it myself. To start with I only inserted the SSD that I bought and installed the OS and drivers etc.
My problem is, that I just inserted a secondary HDD, but it doesn't show up anywhere. It doesn't show up in the UEFI/BIOS, and it doesn't show up in device manager..

Some specs:
OS: Windows 7 x64
Mobo: ASrock Z87 Extreme4
CPU: Intel i5-4670K
GPU: GeForce GTX 760 OC
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO

All help would be greatly appreciated :)

what is your second hdd might help to explain the model lol, are you in ACHI, and are you using the ASMEDIA boot rom and is it in ahci as well? this info is taken from your users manual on your UEFI.

It should still show up in BIOS, shouldn't it? Unless there is a power or SATA cable disconnected.

I could be an ide drive for all we know. Doubt that but I've seen weirder and yeah I agree it might just be a bad cable or port.

Yup.. changed the SATA cable and it worked

I hate when the problem is so simple, and you only realize after spending ages on other methods lol
