Hello,

I recently purchased a new MOBO, CPU and RAM. After installation ofc I re-installed Windows and all that.
Since then I get PC freezes.

I solved the PC freezes for a while by disabeling the broweser "Hardware acceleration" both on FF and GC.
It worked for about 10 days.
I can't remember if I did anything besides that. I just searched all the errors I got and solved them one by one.
First it seemed like my old HDD (WD one) had caused it. I unpluged it and everything was good.
After I'v seen there are no freezes I decided to connect the HDD back and format it clean. Since then didn't have problems.

So.. I didn't get any seriouse errors on the "Computer management", "Errors and warrnings" for like 10 days.

Got one today. While browsing.
The cursor gets stuck on a shape, like the hand cursor or the typing cursor and startes to freeze from time to time after it completely freezes.
If I try to shut down the PC while it happens, It will just go black screen and wont shut down fully.

The errors are:

nvlddmkm (Display Driver)

nvlddmkm Is the Nvidia display driver. Usually it will bug out if your GPU (Display adapter/Graphics card) is failing/not enough voltage-current and or if you are overclocking. Sometimes it is caused by a bad power supply too. Try un-installing the software/drivers from nvidia and re-installing with stock settings. If that does not work then try checking for over heating (Can also cause random issues.) the only other thing I can suggest is trying a different GPU. See if you can borrow from a friend. But as you said it was fine for 10 days. so it could be a buggy driver. I also would try a Memtest to see if you might have bad ram as that too can cause random freezing and crashing.

Please go back to nvida driver 314.22 , trust me on this, a lot of people with 4xx and 5xx are having major issues with the current drivers. Wipe whatever new driver you have and install 314.22 WHQL NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce 314.22 Driver WHQL This should solve your problem for now, or until Nvidia releases a solid driver for the 4xx and 5xx cards. Trust me when I tell you, you are not the only one with this issue. People having BSOD, computer freezing up, all sorts of issues, all because of the new drivers. So before you install 314.22, make sure to completely get rid of current drivers. I could show you hundreds of pages of people complaining on forums with gtx 4xx and 5xx cards with the *new drivers* and when they roll back to 314, magically their problems poof.

Gotta have at least 1!
Although they have had that version out for sometime now I am on 331.65 been using it since released and not a single issue. I doubt it has anything to do with which release he is using at this moment.

For some reason the 6xx series cards seem unaffected, I also have a 600 series card and run the new drivers. My post was specific for 4xx and 5xx cards. Plus it wont hurt for him to try will it :) Sometimes a very difficult to diagnose problem actually has a very simple solution. :D Happy New year to you and your family.

I also have a crappy 9400 GT in my pc too.... No problems there. both gpu's play fine with each other... as noted before. He could ave poor power and or overheating to. Can't just say update -revert back- when it comes to bugging issues like that. While it might (Fix) the issue. It will just be a band aid. As he had it working for ten days with no issues. (He unplugged a hard drive = less power draw = NO crashing) Kind of raises a flag there.

he also turned off hardware acceleration in his browser (Means the GPU is not being used to render the images and or to do flash playback) Seeing as he has win 7 x64 thus must be using DWM with transparency I doubt it could be related to 3D mode or Direct 3D for that matter.
