What's your CPU compression rate

I am finally reaching scores close to you guys. You know, at first with my first fx-6100 build, I tried really hard to keep up, but I was rather embarrassed at my results, finally I am not

Yeah it seems to do that. I ran it 4 times in a row once and it got higher each time by a little.

I'm guessing this is decent for what I have. Don't know if it's too low or what not though I see many which just blow mine away. Sorry I don't really know what I should expect in the results for certain cpus. First time seeing this thread and seeing this command so I got curious to see what I would get, hope I learn something out of it. Always looking for new stuff to learn about in the pc world.

I feel the same way, so don't feel bad. I am guessing it's some manner of your CPU perhaps seeing how fast it can compress a gzip, or rar or something in a specified time period. Just sounds like that. I have no clue.

I posted a link to explain it HERE. The CPU is constantly compressing/decompressing data. How fast it can do this largely depends on the instruction sets built-in the chip.

...found the fix to double my threads usage and speed by disabling windows 7 core parking.

In short, here is the better method from sky60234:-

- Go to Regedit

- Find this key:- " 0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583 "

- Within this key, there is a value called: " ValueMax "

- This value represents the % number of cores the system will park - the default 100% ie: all Cores are potentially park-able

- Change the value from 64 to 0 so the " ValueMin " and " ValueMax " are both zero

- You will have to find the key a few times and repeat the process for each time it is found - the number of instances will depend on the number of power profiles in your system [ in my DAW it was only found twice ]

- Do a full shutdown and power-off and cold-re-start

Tried this trick and it has absolutely no effects on my system...I wonder if that is i'm already oc'ed @4.2 or is Intel proc?

I can see in resources monitor, cores running smooth all together but seeing no improvements or slow down, even in a FPS benchmark. Placebo effect?

The resource monitor can show you which cores are parked when it does its sample (poll), but that is only once per second. Cores can be parked and unparked hundreds of times a second, so keep that in mind.
DO NOT MANUALLY EDIT THE REGISTRY. THIS WILL TRICK PARKCONTROL INTO THINKING CORE PARKING IS ON, BUT IT HAS NO EFFECT ON THE OPERATING SYSTEM!

.forgetfull nobodysepecial forget to take pre-OC measurements before his OC to compare to post-OC but it ok, i talk to nice representative about custom bios from my gpu company as i prepare to solder an extra 6pin PCI-E power insertion plug

.my gpu has 10 phase DIGI+ VRM 6+8 pci-e power insertion plugs plus a place where you can solder extra 6 pin plug but nobodyspecial wait for his water block to water cool this card before he take fantastic-drastic-mentally-unstable-overclocking-spastic measures
