Seems like a well thought out plan Ralph. The only other easily found phase change material I can think of is R143A, auto air conditioning gas. It will get much colder than a gas duster though and may be harmful to breathe.

Gary I woke up about 40 minutes ago and just threw together this idea in my head, if I am to actually do it, I would research other materials most likely and consult with a few engineers in my family before I started work. So this is like...pre alpha, alpha stage. I also posted on overclockers website to see if they think it's even worth the time. I am in no way trying to insult this wonderful forum, not at all, I just want to get as much feedback as possible, mostly from ln2, halon and those kinda guys because I have decided to go in that direction.

The settings are great but 2.0 voltage :shock: (Hell has frozen over) comes to mind

Plus with Extreme llc the voltage will be going over what is set in the bios :shock:

That is why I set it to extreme. Settings 2v alone on the CPU wasn't cutting it. I needed MOAR! OVER 9000! (small joke), I guess it's not much of a joke if I have to claim it's one but I laughed so at least one person got off on it

How about a compressor that creates hot liquid that you cool with the radiator, then it flows towards an evaporation chamber where it gets really cold and that cools down a different liquid, a liquid which is chosen because you know it will remain in liquid phase, then that liquid goes through tubes and touches the bottom part of the motherboard CPU mounting..hmmm

Instead of using a flame for a heat source a electric heating coil might work.

If this comes to, I will not be doing it home, I will look around for a lab to rent for however long it takes and I think they can even provide you with an assistant. But I never did this, so I can't be sure...maybe my friend is just fibbing.

Our elevator is out of order due to the electrical repairs they are performing on the surrounding area resulting from the other week's amazingly low temperatures. And I am not feeling great this evening ( head spins ) and I am afraid that if I take a trip downstairs I might fall. Even if I did receive it today, I would not even attempt to install it. I am just laying in bed trying not to vomit. You will be the FIRST friend I inform Paul when it is here, with an unboxing and install video if you would like. That is all, again I am sorry to disappoint you my friend but I have that buzzing aurora feeling in my head so I won't risk getting out of bed, even to attend my nightly shower tonight. This is not a pity post, just explaining my predicament.

P.S when my power went out, my PSU did a great job protecting my equipment. Thank you APC. Now I will be buying that secondary battery you attach via cable for sure. Will find it later and order it tonight.
