Hi all,
Few days ago my desktop background became black and since then i wasn't able to see any wallpaper on my desktop, even the built-in ones.
I've already tried:
- Re-installing the graphic driver
- Installing an older version of the driver
- Re-starting, logging off, sleep, hibernate, switch user, etc
- Changing theme
- Right click on a picture "Set as desktop background"
- Personalizing the theme (selecting more than one picture, random, 10 secs, 30 secs, etc)
- Turning off Aero or setting to windows classic view

All other video functions are working perfectly.

I have a lenovo 3000 N100 Laptop that comes with a Geforce go 7300 graphic card and i'm using an activated copy of Windows 7 Ultimate RC 32-bit.

Any suggestion will be more than welcomed.

Thank you

OK, I was finally able to fix the problem.
It was actually pretty stupid and apparently I changed it without noticing.

Solution:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/67200-remove-background-images-where-available.html

Control Panel --> Ease of access --> Ease of access center --> Make the computer easy to see --> at the end of the page "Make things on the screen easier to see" and unmark the "Remove background images (where available)".

I hope it'll be helpful to somebody else in the future because this solution I haven't seen in any forum (i cheeked all of them).

You're welcome. It'll be gross to ask for help and not post the solution when I found it.
BTW, I don't know how to change the thread to "fixed".

Precisely my problem. I was able to fix it by following above. Thank you for sharing.

I now recall why I switched this to enabled when I tampered and played around the magnifier feature.

Thanks for the fix. I installed a new 9800 GT and when I did I lost my background. The box wasn't checked but by checking it and unchecking it, it reset the background so it worked.

Ha, I had this same problem after a video driver install. In the Ease of Access Center, however, that checkbox was already unchecked. In any case, I noticed "Alt + Left Shift + Print Screen" combo for switching to high contrast was on, so I decided to test it out (by pressing alt + left shift + print screen". After switching back doing the same, my wallpaper was back. I didn't even have to change a setting. It appears there is some sort of glitch with Windows 7.

thanks

The alt+shift+print screen worked for me.

You have to hit the sequence twice.

Wanted to register just to thank you folks. This is at least my 7th problem you've fixed. Pun intended.
