Hi,

I reformatted so I lost the logs for now, but it keeps happening when I let the pc sit idle (e.g. overnight).

I set the power options to performance mode - still had the issue
Set the hard disk to never turn off - still had the issue.

Any ideas?

Hi Twisty.

The zip you uploaded does not contain any crash dump.

Follow it: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/174459-dump-files-configure-windows-create-bsod.html
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Dont run any disc cleanup program before you upload another zip.

Hmm. Apparently it is not overheating. May be you need a dismantle. Clean the air vents and fan grills. That may be helpful to you.

As you are saying, there should not be a ventilation problem. It is not overheating, too. Then why the problem vanished after removing the side of the case?

You may close it again to see if the BSODs are coming back or not.

Now there is a crash dump.
Code:
BugCheck 124, {0, fffffa800d547028, be000000, 100110a}

Probably caused by : GenuineIntel

Best thing to do in this case is to follow this guide: http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lo...top-0x124-what-means-what-try.html#post354696

Follow it step by step. You will know that is is hard to determine the source of a stop 0x124; and it will take a time.

Let us know about your advancement.

EVGA rep told me:

Right off the bat I see a couple things that may be either the problem or a software reporting issue. First off, I see the memory is reporting at 815Mhz. It should be reporting 800Mhz, so there may be an overlcock set that's causing the system to become unstable. Likely this will be on the bclk. Another thing I noticed was the vcore is reporting at 1.808v. That's extremely high, to the point it can cause damage to the processor. The vcore should be around 1.3v. The combination of these two is likely causing your system to be unstable. I suggest starting with a BIOS reset to set everything back to default. Then go in to the BIOS, confirm that the vcore is somewhere around 1.3v and that the bclk is at 100Mhz. Save and restart, then test your system and see if it's running any more stable.

dumb question about bios updates. Do I need to do them in order or will grabbing the newest one be ok?

Your BIOS version is 0702 of 2014/05/09. But within this short time it released a number of updates, and the latest one is Version 1204 of 2014/06/24. There must be a reason for such a frequent update. Get the Version 1204 from Motherboards - Z97-A - ASUS and install it.

Be aware that BIOS update is a very critical task and you need to be very careful while doing it. Any disruption during the process might be fatal.

If the BIOS update is not helpful, follow the other steps of the 124 troubleshooting, too.
