Solved Corrupted Files on Laptop [Currently Going Mad]

Did you try a fresh ISO using the tool to write to flash stick in Steps 1 and 2 of Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. This should work if you are using a fresh ISO which the tool can be fussy about. Otherwise use UltraISO Software To Create Bootable USB Flash Drive

Read over the steps in that tutorial and ask back any questions you have. If you stick with those steps, tools and methods you will get and keep a perfect install for as long as you do.

Well then. I ran memtest on my computer and it showed a black screen as usual, text filling the space. It was saying that this usb was formatted and stuff by ultraISO, then is said, systemdisk is empty, using stuff from hard disk. Starting boot from usb . . .
And it was stuck on "Starting boot from usb . . ." for an hour. I force shut down my computer and restarted, ejecting the usb. Any thoughts?

I'm sorry I don't understand what you are saying. Did you get Win7 installed using Ultra ISO?

Then you say you ran memtest86 which is run from a booted CD. What did it report about UltraISO? That isnt' clear at all why it would be reporting anything about a flash stick since Memtest only tests RAM in a series of tests to check its stability - I would run a minimum of 7.

Do you have a working WIndows 7 currently? If not what is the exact problem?

Nonono, I'm saying, it somehow installed successfully, even with all the other intallers for winrar and plugins corrupt. Anyway, next time I booted my pc, it showed to choose between memory diagnose or something and boot normally. Then it showed a blue screen with text and a loading bar, it reported back no problems. Was that memtest?

These descriptions are nearly enough to go by. If this persists can you take a snapshot of what you're talking about?

So what are the issues you still have now?

I can't really take a snapshot since I only have ethernet connection and can't install a hotspot creator, because the image is on the booting of the computer. Well, whenever I run something such as an exe (like 9/10 ratio chance) it will say it is not a valid application. Some will run, but during the middle of the installation it will say "files are corrupt, please get a fresh copy". Almost nothing is a valid win32 application, especially the compressed zip folders. Whenever I try to move something from a zip folder, it says "the file pointer was moved before the beginning of the file". All AVI files aren't valid win32 applications. I'm scared for a clean and/or repair install because they might not work. As I said all installers don't work on my computer anymore ;c

I just did a clean reinstall, I selected upgrade instead of custem, followed the steps, and didn't get the windows updates, didn't put a product number. Did I do anything wrong, because. Everything is still corrupt and invalid :/

I am going to restrain using caps right now. The installer I used before was apparently corrupt, and after trying to move somethings everything was broken apparently. Then I installed .NET Framework 4.5 new version which the system recommended, went on the winrar site, downloaded a fresh installer, AND IT WORKED. Would you mind if I keep giving you information as I expirement? I really want to find the reason for this problem, and for future users to have a fix. Thank you for all your time, gregrocker ;D

Take snapshots with your cam phone or camera, attach to reply using paper clip in reply box. It is still difficult to follow what you are doing.

If you chose Upgrade install then you did not do anything close to a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which you would already know if you'd read those steps. To Clean Reinstall the installer must be booted during which there is no option to use the Upgrade button.Delete all partitions to get it cleanest.

If you chose the Upgrade button then you were running the installer in Win7 already and only did a Repair Install. How is performance now?

Why do you need a WinRAR utility anyway. 7Zip offers .rar extension support. Are you using torrents. That is more likely your problem since they are ridden with infection. Run a full Malwarebytes scan now.

I am using torrents, but the problem started before I even got uTorrent. I thought 7zip was the broken program, so I tried installing WinRAR. Anyway nothing was fixed. Also, it said in a different thread that someone tried both oem and vanill windows 7 clean reinstalls, but it would apparently fail in some sort of way: http://www.sevenforums.com/software/166879-cannot-install-software-due-corrupt-install-files.html

"Hi guys,

Well I did a back up of data and drivers and got a copy of the plain WINDOWS 7 INSTALLER .iso which I burned to DVD.

I then repaired the laptop back to factory settings using the recovery console to get a clean slate for the new install. I then changed the boot priority in the BIOS and shoved the DVD WINDOWS INSTALLERin. all goes well until the installer starts t load after loading files and I get the blues screen with:

STOP:c000021a {Fatal System error}
The Master subsystem Process System process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000006 (0x00000000 0x00000000).
The system is shut down.

I'm going slightly mad. In fact, is the definition of insanity not repeating the same actions and expecting different results? If so I'm there already.

Is this a problem with the INSTALLER .iso, or is it a problem with my hard drive not being "clean" of the previous install? I performed a chkdsk scan and it all came back clear of mistakes."

This guy went mad too ;o

You are all over the place. First you describe running the Win7 OS installer to do an Upgrade install which is a Repair Install.

Now you say you ran Factory Recovery to reinstall all the bloatware and duplicate utilities. Is this what you did? Yes or No? If so you can keep that and Clean Up Factory Bloatware to see how it performs.,

Then you said you inserted the Win7 disk to run it again? NO! I just told you that you need to boot the disk to do a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 not run it from Win7! You dont'' seem to follow any steps that are given, just want to go mad all the time!

Please settle down and focus on exactly what you want to do. What is that exactly??

Sorry for being unclear. The factory install wasn't me, I was quoting from KeetScott. He oem and vanilla isn't working for him. Also, I'll attach the malwarebytes log for you c;

If you cannot carry on a coherent conversation about exactly what you are trying to do and the results, then I'm afraid I cannot help you.

What is it exactly you are trying to do? Don't go off into outer space. Just tell me what you want to do.

I'm trying to fix the file problem in my computer (without complete reinstall because I wan't to keep ALOT of things I worked a month for) so I can start editing videos again.
What I need to fix:
WinRAR always reports back "Unexpected end of archive"
7Zip always reports back "File pointer moved before beginning of file"
A lot of exe files "aren't" valid applications
What I fixed through repair install:
Installers being corrupt

Download new copies of the files. Are these torrents?

I've made up my mind to stop disrespecting your first idea and do a clean Factory OEM Windows 7 Install. I put all my installers in a usb, put them onto some windows xp computer I found, the took back the usb drive and burned the image into the file. I am using acer by the way, if that helps. I followed through your tutorial, but when saving the backup images, it said process failed. So, I will choose custom, and do everything so that it is completely CLEAN. Also I have found out something. I was planning on installing something, which I did, then I ran the ccleaner(which I had before I posted this whole thread) registry, and the next installer didn't work. Strange. Must be missing dlls that ccleaner removed.

Make sure to delete all partitions during the booted install. If the installer won't boot try downloading and burning another from the tutorial link and using tool provided only.

If you use only the tools, steps and methods in the tutorial you will keep a perfect install for as long as you do

Once you follow Gregs suggestion and get things working I have a suggestion.

Stay away from doing this from your post # 15

Nononono... I cracked fl studio (sh!) and I used a reg to crack it <3 that was after the problem started
