BSOD after using the computer for 30-45m.

Well, first of all it should be on the paperwork from Acer when you bought the laptop. I think that's what the 1ST entry is, the C400-MTFDD entry is. Right click on that, select properties, go to the details tab, click that and the decond entry down should be Hardware ID. select that and Post a screenshot of that.

Ok, I spent a couple of hours trying to find out about it. As best as I can figure, that is an SSD made by Crucial (Micron) but was not made for consumer sales. It was made for manufacturers like Lenovo, Acer and HP. What that means is that most of the firmware updates have to come from those companies. So, see if Acer has an update. I have a couple of Crucial M4's. They had a firmware problem which for some reason made them BSOD constantly after 5000 hours of use. They quickly came out with a firmware update that fixed the problem. Below is a picture of the HP version. It's clearly marked as a crucial but on the bottom, look at the upside down sticker. It also is clearly an HP version. You should be able to clearly look at yours and see what you have. Your firmware version is 0002, which would be a quite early version.

You are truly a saint. Thank you for spending your time on this! :)

I'll open up my PC and check what SSD it is, and google firmware updates for it. After doing this, I will post back with results.

Before you anoint me as a Saint, I would make sure it works first. Let me know what it is. Post a good picture if you can, and hope Acer has a firmware update for it.

I'm not sure either, However your manual should tell you. Your manual should have a schematic as well as how you change hard drives and whether the SSD is an Msata which could fit in the side of the computer.

Right, I called the Acer support and they started searching for firmware updates to my SSD. They then said that they would get back to me, since they didn't find it directly on their website. I then waited for 4 days with no reply in my inbox.

I then called them again, stating my problem. This support employee told me that he can't find anything, and encouraged me to reset my PC to factory settings. And, if that doesn't fix my issue, purchase a new SSD. He also gave me a number: KF.12804.002, supposedly for the SSD.

What's the way to go? I had a search around on Google for firmware updates, but ended up empty handed. Should I do a system reset factory settings? I haven't had a crack at opening and locating the SSD, merely because I can't find the manual at this point in time.

Tice, the manual is usually on the support page where you get the drivers. You didn't list the model number and enough info where I can look for it, but usually it is downloadable from the support page.

I have now reset my computer to factory settings. No luck.

I had a dive in the manual that came with my computer, and one that I found at Acer's website. I can't find anything that will help me find the SSD in the computer's case. If you'd like to take a look in order for certainty, the english one is attached to this message. View attachment 330339

I don't know what to do.

There is nothing in the manual that is even close to a maintenance schematic or anything that shows what is located where. Can you find a maintenance manual? Is your computer under warranty?

I haven't been able to locate any maintenance manual. I did take a dive into my computer, but didn't see an SSD. There was something, something located under the DVD/BluRay rack between the harddrive rack, but it's (by the looks of it) very hard to retreive.

My computer is under warranty. It expires in less than a month.

I'd contact them and try for an RMA before the warranty runs out, They will probably try to stall you until it does run out, so be insistent.

Well, I don't believe that they would give me a new one. The only option I see is driving down to the store and sending it in for repairs, which is what I'll be doing within the next coming 2 weeks.

Thank you for your help, essenbe.

You are welcome for what help I was able to give. But, you have to get an RMA number from them before sending it in. No, they will not give you a new one, but they can fix the one you have now.
