What security setup do you have?

three routers in Y config (happy i got it setup without any headaches...:))
one router with WEP (call it insecure network) has only limited access to the internet a no access to my other machines on my network (temporarily on for those machines that im servicing that cant use WPA, or dont want to give my security key to) usually upon boot i change the key
last boot (before the key change) this was my key
31cb99a6c7afd9ae8462500f418e07b8fbeaaedc95c0d90831c44a2fd15fce07....:geek:

another with WPA-2 CCMP and TKIP (key rotation interval is set to 5 minutes) which has all my network configured around it...;)

all have nat (it is a pain to forward a port but hey this is as secure apart from shelling big bucks for a cisco (or something with that kind of quality) product) enabled...

currently have two working machines (one not so working...:()
my personal laptop does not having any security software other than UAC and WinFirewall, as no one has the chance to muck around with this machine exepct me (although i usually do that in a VM though...:p)

my personal server (which is actually used more than me ) has Microsoft Forefront for proactive/on-line scanning and have both Avast and ClamWin for sheduled on demand scanning (usually if not every two days, avast one day ClamWin another....:))
this one also has UAC and Winfirewall (i might actually look into some third party firewall software [i really hope comodo gets its Firewall officially supported soon, as i do really like it] for both my serv and laptop...

so dinesh thats my setup

ooh forgot to mention...
since i don't usually use any older apps or apps coming from unknow places(and if i do its usually in a VM), have DEP on always on which is a big plus (for both server and laptop)....;)

P.S usually my default setup is with scripting off (which solves a lot of the problems which are caused online) and enabling scripts as i go (both in IE and Fx [both noscript and adblock plus enabled and with added security of flashblock), people using my machines hate it because one thing on certain social networking sites does not work for some reason or another (which is caused by a script being blocked...)

while i might not being see websites as they are supposed to be, its better security wise...;)

@TheIgster

so you can say that threatfire is a kind of hybrid HIPS?
(this is what i get from your explanation...)

You must be VERY secure.

With all that rotation and port forwarding...

...not that there's anything wrong with that.

my setup

System wide:
UAC (Turned on)
Kaspersky Internet Security (never turned off for any reason ever)
Peer Block (awesome little program)
Router Firewall (DMZ off, wifi very secure and no SSID broadcasting)
Spybot S&D run every two days (almost a religious dedication to schedule)
Defender (maybe one day it will earn its keep)

Although lots of people who have posted turn off UAC I think it is important, although i am certain it wont ever protect me because i am a seasoned internet user its free, takes little to no resources, and is updated by mcirosoft (they made my OS so surely they know something i don't lol) and that is basicly the reason i use Defender too.

As for PeerBlock its just another line of defence, its updated every day and generally makes me that little bit more anonymous and secure.

Web surfing:
I use Fire Fox (never anything else) with some handy plug-ins
PhProxy (instant site specific proxy, Iturn it on when I go to sites I am unsure about)
TACO (opt out list)
AdBlock Plus (blocks ads and phishers)
Better Privacy (cookie manager)
Stealthier (again for unsure sites, better than FFox Private mode)
WOT (web of trust, has user submitted ratings for sites)
Viral Threat level (informative, it shows me current internet threat level)

I also use my paranoia to keep me safe, its the best defence in the universe.
i am not sure it i am overly protective of my computer on-line but there are so many threats popping up every day i just don't see how you can be lazy when it comes to your privacy and security.

Additionally after reading this thread i maybe installing threat-fire later this evening.

Well since getting Windows 7 I'm just using the inbuilt firewall with Microsoft Security Essentials, UAC on and IE8 with protected mode on, also a good tight router.
I have just downloaded Malwarebytes but haven't yet installed it or my paid for SuperAntiSpyware, plus I always used to use SpywareBlaster but have heard it's not necessary now.

Oh and I mustn't forget an important one, Safe Hex ;)

I just read most of the messages here and you and I seem to be the only ones using McAfee Suite. I have tried most of the most popular ones but seems to me that McAfee is lighter and protects me 100% and I have been using it for about a year.
I also leave my UAC ON but no router here.
