Hey,

Any help would be appreciated in this matter. I installed a new intel 730 480gb SSD and after a clean install of windows I've been repeatedly getting BSODs. The usual codes are ndis.sys, win32k.sys, ntskrnl.sys. At first I thought it was a sound card issue (I use asus xonar dx) and I actually reverted from the latest drivers to unified drivers from 2011 and that seemed to fix the crashing for about 6 hrs, but the errors came back nonetheless.

Some interesting notes are that my friend who bought the Intel 730 SSD at the same time as me, let me borrow his to to run on my computer. I installed windows on his ssd w/ my system and the same errors occurred. So it makes me really believe its not a SSD issue as much as it is a hardware/installation drivers issue.

I did notice when I'm watching streamers on twitch.tv is when the crashes begin to occur. I tried updating my nvidia drivers / realtek networking drivers and whatever else. I've done the memtest86 with zero errors and I've also ran verifier.exe and the cpu test which all came back negative for errors. At this point I am really out of ideas and any help would be truly appreciated.

BSOD is still persisting. Seeing ndis.sys and rt64win7.sys, but I was having the same errors even with the drivers updated from the realtek website.

Kevin,

Please re-run the DM Log Collector so I can have a look at the very latest .dmp files please. Also, please check the following:

1. The SSD is using the latest firmware version, and
2. The SSD alignment is correct - use this to check
3. Are there any devices connected via IDE?

Also list which CPU check you did and also confirm the number of passes of MemTest86+ that you ran.

I'll see if the older .dmp files provide any clues in the meantime:

Hi,

I've attached the latest logs here.

I ran memtest86 for 8 passes overnight and it turned out no errors. I forget the name of the CPU test but it stressed all 8 cores for an extended period of time with no errors. I will update when I can find the name.

I checked hard drive alignment/verification and it was correct. I also believe there are IDE devices also running on my rig. I also have a 128gb intel SSD running as well as a WD HDD. I can get you a list if thats necessary.

Regarding the realtek driver: I had updated it to the most recent one, but the same errors were occurring so I actually rolled back my driver to the one I'm on currently (with no luck it still crashes too).

Thanks for the reply and please let me know if you need any other information. I can almost definitively tell you that the crashes are correlating to flash player and twitch.tv. I computer idled for 8hrs and ran for another 8 without a single crash when I didn't use twitch.tv.

Hi, just got home. the CPU test i ran was prime95 and it came back with no errors on my cores. Also i left my computer on idle with twitch.tv on and it crashed again. Win32k.sys and ks.sys were the files it was blaming.

Yes, the SSD is updated to the latest intel firmware. I will reinstlal the realtek drivers, but the problems continued last time and I doubt they will stop w/ this. I have 1-2 new .dmp files if you'd like to view those as well. Again the crashes are occurring consistently when I'm on twitch.tv watching streams.

Thank you for your help. I'm just so stumped and I really appreciate it so much!

Please update Windows fully and reboot. If you get more BSOD's upload them here - be sure to reinstall the latest Realtek driver - at the very least, it won't appear as a cause in any BSOD dmp files, and makes my job a little bit easier.

Code:
BIOS Version/Date	Award Software International, Inc.[B][COLOR="Red"] FA[/COLOR][/B], 4/20/2010
Please carefully check the Revision Number of your motherboard it looks like its Rev.2. If it is, then update your BIOS to Version FH here:

Okay, I just re-updated my realtek driver back to the latest one. I was hesitant to update my bios because I heard it could have some negative outcomes and outright just destroy my mobo.

The site also states: "Warning:
Because BIOS flashing is potentially risky, if you do not encounter problems using the current version of BIOS, it is recommended that you not flash the BIOS. To flash the BIOS, do it with caution. Inadequate BIOS flashing may result in system malfunction."

So it's something that I'd like to pursue as the last and final step. Do you think it's come to that?

kvz1, May I suggest something here please. If you have any Gigabyte utilities installed, please uninstall them, also I understand your board has sata II ports and 2 Marvell controller sata III ports. Even though they are sata II ports, please connect the SSD to one of them, preferably to port 0 or 1. Marvell has a reputation of not getting along with some SSDs.

Hey, I'm using the ICH intel controllers on my board for this SSD. My computer ran without BSOD for 2 days straight. I've been leaving flash player/twitch.tv running just to make sure. There was one crash tonight with Ks.sys being at fault. I've attached the new dmp files again.

try this, reinstall your NVidia drivers using this method http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/327414-nvidia-drivers-avoid-problems.html. Follow that method and install only the Display driver and the PhysX driver nothing else.

Please fill out your System Specs

   Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html

Also, in the windows error reporting you must have 50 errors from Chrome. Also, are you using a USB Audio Capture device?
