I have just created a new user account and selected a desktop background image. So far, so good.
When one logs on to this new account the desktop contains several "shortcuts" to programs which, I prefer, not be available to this account.
I write "shortcuts" enclosed in quotes because they are not like the shortcuts on my personal account. The latter I can delete at will and only the desktop shortcut is deleted, without having any effect on the target program.
On the new user account, attempting to delete a shortcut requires administrator permission and then advises that the target program will also be deleted.
Checking the Properties confirms that the icon is indeed a shortcut, but it doesn't behave like one.
How can these shortcuts be removed from the new user desktop?
