Hello

Two days ago,I updated My PC windows 7 (32 bit) Ultimate windows and after that whenever i click any file type, dllhost.exe proccess with below processid starts and even i close that, it will start again

C:\Windows\system32\DllHost.exe /Processid:{3EB3C877-1F16-487C-9050-104DBCD66683}

(before i update this windows, i didn't have this problem and i'm sure this dllhost.exe didn't infect by a malware! )

I searched for this and found These methods that didn't work for me:

1- rebuild icon cache
2-add dllhost.exe to data execution prevention list
3-run sfc /scannow command

This is a screenshot of dll and other files that this proccess handles

I have this problem in my Asus notebook with windows 7 ultimate (64 bit),too!!! (exactly after windows update several months ago....)

I searched for Processid:{3EB3C877-1F16-487C-9050-104DBCD66683} and it seems is wininet.dll

Please help me to solve this problem!

Hello
Many updates installed (I means that updates installed several days ago not old updates) and it's not clear which one caused this problem:

Screenshot

Please open an ELevated Command Prompt and run the following command,

REG QUERY HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{3EB3C877-1F16-487C-9050-104DBCD66683}\LocalServer32

3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

Thanks for your help, I will do that and post the results...

That doesn't surprise me too much - despite the fact that it was posted by an MS staffer as a potential diagnostic aid :(

Having said that, a search of my registry may give a few pointer to your problem, so...
Please open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following commands..

REG QUERY HKCR\CLSID\{0358b920-0ac7-461f-98f4-58e32cd89148} /S

That looks like it may be the cause - there are no SysWOW64 entries present... (This is a 64-bit machine?)

I'll work up a fix protocol later - but this may be the tip of an iceberg... Have you been using any form of registry 'cleaner'??

thank you so much for your quick replies!:D

All of those screenshots are from my PC system with windows 7 ultimate 32 bit architecture
But as i said before have this problem in my notebook with windows 7 ultimate and 64 bit architecture,too...is it necessary to take screenshots of the cmd commands in my notebook windows and put them here?

Yes,i use tune up utilities (AVG PC tune up) in both systems (PC & notebook)!!

I need the data from the problem machine - not anything else!

AVG should be sae enough - but I have known it to cause problems before.

Ok,which other data should i collect for you???
I have used tune up utilities for about 2 years and in this time period, i haven't this dllhost.exe annoyance problem!

But exactly after updating the windows, dllhost.exe process runs and never ends (of course I didn't use tune up registry cleaner after updating windows within several days ago...)
I think this process try to handle a(some) dll file(s) and because it has some difficulty with handling the dll files,it doesn't end automatically after a while (As i know this process should ends automatically after doing it's job successfully..am i right???)
