Solved How To 1 Partition to 0 Partitions

How can I go from 1 partition to 0 partitions on my internal HD on my 2007 Toshiba PC{ 1.5 cpu }?.

I have only 14 free gigs on the OS/primary partition and 56 free gigs and the 2ndary partition.

Would like to have all only one partition or 0 partitions without loosing my existing OS, applications etc.....

Is this possible without great expense or should I just get newer PC for $300. with faster cpu and more ram?

I have macrium and cloned PC to external HD and that ext. HD has and extra partition not being used.

Ahh I found Mini Tool app and it lools like it may do what I want. ?

Any experience users with Mini Tool or similar app?

I/We use Partition Wizard all the time, but you have to backup your data on the other partition or you will loose it.

You can delete the other partition then just use the slider in partition Wizard and pull it to the right to grab the unallocated space.

Please post a shot of Disk Management 1st, before you do anything and we will advise you further.

Hi rybosix!

What you want to do is to make your drive appear as one partition only, is that correct? That means the entire drive to be one volume with one drive letter, not 0 Partition, as the minimum is one.

Currently Windows Disk Management has restrictions about expanding, deleting, shrinking partitions; if you have one OS partition, it would be hard to extend it to the second partition, even if you delete the last one. AddRAM explained what you can do, so do listen to his advise, as third party programs can perform the action you are refering to.

Still, do post a screen shot first, before anything else, like suggested above!

I just wanted to clarify the reasons why to use a third party program and why Disk Management can't work in this case.

THx to all, I used Mini-Tools Partitiion Wizard and it extended/enlarged my primary partition/volume and shrunk the 2ndary and it was so easy.

All data is just as it was not sign of anything lost. So I best mark this thread solved.

Yeah I looked at using MS 7 OS built in disk management, but would not allow enleagement of my primary partition/volume.

Next, I will need to reclone my ext. HD. Thx, r6

Mini-tool makes it easy. I used disk clean and disk check and so far all programs/apps are functioning properly.

Will eventually reclone ext. HD. r6
