I am newly told I don't have permission to do simple things

Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit. I am the administrator (although an admin. password was never set up). For no obvious reason I am now often told I don't have permission for simple operations such as moving a file from one folder to another. Then I get a momentray black screen then "Do you want this program to alter your computer". After that sometimes I can carry out the operation, sometimes I am told I don't have permission and must abort the operation. This happens with other operations which I can't remember at the moment.

Word is a particular nuisance. If I open and amend a Word file and try to save it under the same name by pressing CTRL + S and it saves immediatley. Abnormally, instead of the save being carried out, I am offered a Save D. Box with the file name in it. If I then choose Save I get the error as in the attachment to this post. I must assign another name which I do. The save is then successful. But then I can't delete the old file ("You do not have permission"). This happens every time. My machine is getting littered with un-deletable Word files. (No problem with Notepad nor, I think, with other programs).

I have User Account Control Settings set at default ("Always norify..."). (In any case, that just involves changes being made to Windows.)

How can I get back to normal please?

Thanks.

EDIT: In one folder, (not others) when trying to delete a Word file, I get a D. Box that mentions networks. I am not on a network! (Please see second attachment.)

A solution might be to download Windows Repair (All in One), boot into Safe Mode with Network, accept defaults and add items #26 & 27. Restart once or twice, let things smooth out. That often worked for me to restore Windows' internal operations, and the way explorer.exe plays nice with office suite.

What is "This New Computer"?
Is this the name of your computer?

What was the last program you downloaded?
Last program was a recent auto Windows 7 update. When the problem arose shortly after, I returned to a Restore Point a couple of days before the update but no improvement. When trying to return to the current R. Point, W7 said not possible (no explanation). I then went to the MS site and (re)downloaded the updates.

Its a standard 6 months old Windows computer built by my computer shop. 800 GB RAM, Gigabyte GA-H81M-S2H motherboard, C: is on a 256 GB SSD. Separate internal rotating HD: 1 TB. Backup and Restore set daily.

In the folder holding one of the troublesom Word files are 5 Word files "~WRD0000.tmp to ~WRD0004.tmp" and "~WRD1322.tmp", all dated yesterday when I opened one of the troublesome files.

EDIT Added "before the update"

Did you get Windows Repair (All in One) directly from tweaking.com?

I'd like to know why the dialog saying you don't have permission to do that is also indicating that the drive X is a network drive?

My 10 cents,
That X drive (this new computer) is your internal TB storage device, which obviously has different permissions/privaliges, but only for Word, Dont use it myself but this info might point someone else in the right direction.

Torchwood, that X drive should not be referred to as a network location if it is a local disc on the new computer. That in my opinion is possibly the root of the whole problem.
