Refurb PC, Reinstalled Win 7, check for updates fails

The system came preinstalled with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and kept failing. I tried clean boot, resetting update, sfc scan, memtest and everything was fine. I reinstalled windows and have gone through all of the above again, as well as using Microsoft's FixIt tools. I get error C80003FA. Can't get anything to get these updates to go through. I can send the computer back, but would rather fix it and get it deployed to user. Any ideas? Thanks!

Did you reinstall windows on top of existing one or you formatted the drive and installed Windows?

I reformatted and reinstalled.

Can you access the Internet with any other program and or web browser?

Also check to make sure the complete date and time is correct on the computer.

The date and time are correct. I have internet explorer and Chrome if that is what you are asking. I'm able to use the machine normally. I just can't get the updates to go through. I did the waiting thing. I've also changed the system settings to never check for updates then forced it to check. Went back to automatic and forced it to check, with the same results. Since I had read a good bit before reinstalling, as soon as I reinstalled, before I installed anything (only thing I have installed at this point is Chrome), I tried to update. So it isn't the firewall or antivirus.

I just ran another Windows FixIt and now I'm getting error 8024000E.

All I'm doing is Google your trouble codes and finding what Microsoft suggests to solve the problem. I really don't know if it will solve your problems.

Thank you. I've gone through everything I could find, as well. I feel I'm just repeating the process. I know there are guys out there that can analyze the CBS log and maybe offer some insight. I appreciate your time.

I'm having this same problem! Can't get updates to start after replacing the HDD on my notebook. FRUSTRATING!!!

I went through all of that. Now I'm getting 8024000E

Uninstall ie11 and shut down the machine/ restart and recheck for updates.

Okay so no updates have been loaded at all :/
I would make sure this machine has been activated
Click start and right click the computer listing and click on Properties
On the very bottom see what it says.

Appreciate the advice Ztruker... Just tried resetting WU and still no luck.

I'm not trying to hijack OP's thread but I posted my original here http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-...ates-error-0xc8000247-while-running-surt.html and wasn't getting any responses. Not sure how to proceed. I attached a SURT log on my original post if that helps any.

It has been activated. I am on a different computer right now. The problem computer is setup in my office and I'm trying to get it working for an enduser.
