I have used this combination for 3 years and now I get this message "Windows Photo Viewer can't display this picture because there might not be enough memory available on you computer. Close some programs that you aren't using or free some hard disk space (if it's almost full)and try again." In my main hard disk, I have 229 GB of free space out of 282 GB. I don't think that I have made any drastic changes intentionally. I have tried many different things but this is what I am getting on all pictures.

Welcome to our forum bomar84.

Please use this tutorial by Golden so we can have a look.

I notice in your system specs.
Antivirus Microsoft, Malwarebytes 3.2, and Iolo 15
Iolo 15 could of already caused all kinds of problems. Seldom if ever does one need such a program.

Disk space isn't memory so the fact that your disk is nearly full shouldn't be the reason you are seeing that message. You will still want to look into deleting unwanted/unneeded files to gain disk space because Windows doesn't like a nearly full disk.

How large is the picture? How much free memory do you have? You can see how much free memory you have by right-clicking on the Task Bar and selecting Task Manager from the menu that pops up.

Built my first computer (8Mhz 8088cpu, 640K RAM, 20MB HDD, 2 360K floppy drives) in 1985 and have been building them for myself, relatives and friends ever since.
My hard disk is 2.14 GB free out of 3.91 GB. As to the photos, the largest I could find was 1.79 MB with dimensions of 3264 X 2448. I have about 120 photos but it will accept none of them. Most are jpg. As to
my main drive, I have 228 GB free out of 282 GB.

As previously replied, your hard disk space is NOT memory, it is STORAGE.

If you entered your system specs correctly, there is little doubt why you may have low memory issues - Win7 64 bit really needs 6GB (8GB+ is prefered) of RAM and you have 4GB. Load up default Win7 stuff, throw in anti-virus and assorted applications that load at startup and there is very little memory left for photo viewer. Note that many photo programs load the file into a RAM buffer - if you don't have available free RAM it throws an error.

GEWB

Hi everyone. I researched more memory and came to a different decision. Since
i'm on title XIX, and have very little to work with, I decided to just download
Irfanview and it's going to be just fine. I'll need some practice to get the
size adjusted right but I'll make it work. Thanks to all who gave me pointers.I
really appreciate it. I imagine I'll be back with something else now that I
know where to come for help. Thanks a lot. bomar84
