I am having a strange issue with keyboard shortcuts on different versions of Win 7 (32-bit Ultimate and Home Premium) and I have not been able to find any information specifically about this from the searches I have done.

The problem is that the new keyboard shortcuts that were introduced with Windows 7 do not work on two of my computers. They do work on two other machines. I cannot find anything that might cause this and I am hoping someone here can help me solve it.

All the regular keyboard shortcuts work on all machines, including Windows logo key shortcuts. For example, if I type the Windows key on any computer, the Start menu appears. Shortcuts such as Win + and Win Esc also work normally. However, about a half-dozen or so Windows 7 shortcuts do not work on two machines, but do work on the other two. Examples of these shortcuts are the arrow keys together with the Windows key and a few others. If I press Win and the Up Arrow key on two of the computers, I get a full screen window. On the other two computers, nothing happens. This is what I am trying to fix.

The computers that work normally include a home build with the GeForce 8000 chipset and an Acer Aspire T690. Both of these computers are running 32-bit Home Premium, build 7600. Another Acer T690 that is identical to the first one is running 32-bit Ultimate, build 7601. The shortcuts do not work on it. A fourth computer is a Compaq Presario also running 32-bit Home Premium and the shortcuts do not work on it. I cannot figure out what is causing the difference on these machines. All three of the Home Premium installations are from the same official Microsoft DVD. They are all clean installations. I would greatly appreciate any help with this, or information as to what might be causing it.

Repeat request for help with Windows shortcuts

I'm not sure about the etiquette for this. I posted a request for help two weeks ago but have received no replies. I don't wish to violate any terms of this forum but I really do need help for this and I hope someone who knows what is going on will respond to this.

I have different machines running different versions of Win 7. On two of them, the extended Windows shortcuts like Win X and Win arrow keys work as they are supposed to. On two other machines, the shortcuts do not work but other ones, such as Win T and Win +, do. I have spent weeks looking for answers to this but I cannot find any information at all and I cannot find any references to anyone else who has had a similar issue. I don't know what is causing this but I really need to get these shortcuts working on one computer that is used for streaming. If anyone has any ideas about this I would really appreciate hearing them.

If you have a check by this option...

...remove the check and hit the Apply button.

The change should be immediate.
No need to log off or reboot.

Let us know if that was not the issue.

...On two other machines, the shortcuts do not work...

See my post to your other thread.

That did it. Thank you SO much. I cannot begin to express my gratitude. I sure wish this had come up in any of my previous searches and queries. Sometimes even simple things seem to be kept unnecessarily obscure. Thanks again. I really appreciate it.
You are welcome. Glad that it worked for you.

I wish MS would give a bit more info about all of the KEYBOARD things that are going to be turned off when one selects that option under Make the mouse easier to use.

It took me a bit to realize that a forum admin merged the two threads.
