I dont yet have rights to start new thread it seems.
My issue is my hard disk wd element is not showing in my computer but it is shows in the devices connected. There is also an option to eject the disk. But i cannot access its content.
I need help in this. Thanks for looking into it anyway. ��

It means that you have to designate a letter for that drive. Without a drive letter the system will not know which should your files be at.

3. How old is the drive?
4. Run WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows. Download from here
Software and Firmware Downloads | WD Support ( Click on the + sign to expand and read the instructions carefully.
Do the Quick Test and Extended Test and post the results.
Note: Carefully note the time taken to complete the Quick Test and Extended Test, report and post the screenshots of the result... If both finish instantly that means the Diagnostic did not run.
If the drive is shown as healthy we shall proceed to rectify the fault.
In most cases the drive will turn into Read Only when the drive all of a sudden develops too many bad sectors.
Let us see what is in store.

As I anticipated the diagnostic did not run. In all probability, the interface Electronics, - the SATA to USB bridge - inside the enclosure has failed. But there is no way of confirming this since that PCB is integrated with the HDD inside. Because of this we cannot try the HDD alone with a direct SATA connection, even if the HDD is good, which most probably is.
You may have to seek professional data recovery by WD authorised partners in your region. ( Replacing the board or separating the HDD for direct connection and trying is beyond the user)
