Hello,

I just did a fresh install of Windows 7. Everything seem good except that I can't get the printers to print. A HP-P1102W and a Brother HL-2040. They used to work great. The HP is my default.

When printing a test page for each, after a good install (Windows said that), the page gets stuck in the print queue. I tried to use the CD's that came with the printers and that didn't work. I tried Windows Update to let Windows add my printers to the list. No install! They are showing in the Devices and Printers with no exclamation point.

Has anyone ever had this happen and have a solution for this?

Thank You

Check the print spooler service. control panel >> adminTools >> services >> print spooler (Right click should be set to automatic)
You will also have to reset-up the Wifi link, if your using it.

Hi Roy, When I highlight the print spooler and right click on it...no options come up.

I did manage to get the printers working. It seems that the ever present IRQ,s not releasing, was the age old problem. I just unplugged the printers USB cable, rebooted, shut Windows 7 down, rebooted and installed the drivers as per instructions.

Thank You
