I got a new MSI laptop one year ago. I created a USB Win7-64 Pro install stick. Since the new laptop came with Win10, I re-installed Win7 (a year ago) using the USB stick. I would like to re-install Win7, but the USB stick will not allow me to. When Win7 install begins, I get a pop-up message that tells me to Load a Driver. It says a required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing.
I figured the USB needed to be updated, so I downloaded a new Win7-64 Pro with SP1 ISO. I also downloaded the current MSU with all updates. I also downloaded RT7 Lite-64 and followed the tutorial on this site to create the bootable USB. In fact I did this to two USB sticks. The problem is that both give me the same error message about the missing driver (at the start of the install).
Any ideas what can be happening, and how to fix this?

It is an MSI GE62 2DQ Apache Pro. The USB ports all seem to work just fine. It does have USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports. I have been using the USB 2.0 ports for all of this.
Quick update: I just tried the install USB in the 3.0 port. It did the same thing.

Thank you. I will try that. One other question:
I included in the USB stick the MSU updates up to current. It was KB3125574. I just read that I need two others - KB3020369 and KB 3172605. Are these needed also?

I did as you suggeted, then saved the install as an ISO and burned it to the USB and to a DVD. The USB gave the driver error, but the DVD installed without issue. I am having trouble with Windows Update. I started it and it ran for a few hours and was still searching after the 2 hours.
I found a "fix" for this. In a command prompt, you turn off the updater and bits, then delete everything in windows\softwaredistribution, then turn the two services back on. I did that, then started WinUpdate again and let it run all night. It still was searching in the morning.
I downloaded a KB update and it seemed tor run just fine. I just can't search for updates.
