Windows Update error 80073712 (no luck with SFS, SURT, etc.)

Hi,
I'm guessing but the disk you have C only has 24.77gb's left so there's no room for a restore point/ windows old folder.
Not quite the entire disk has been moved you still have 47mb's in front of C doubt it's the issue though
Very weird but the disk it's self is near full which is not a good thing.

About how much free space do I need on C: in order to proceed? I can certainly create a bit more space by moving things to an external drive. Heck, I could disable hibernate and free up 12 GB from hyberfil.sys. I would have thought 24 GB would be enough, but if that's really the issue, it can be improved.

Hi, again. Follow-up on the last post regarding free space on the C: drive.

I disabled hibernate, rebooted, and now have 37 GB free space on the C: drive. I re-ran the Repair Install, which failed as above with the note to reboot and run again with latest updates. I did that, and it failed again. A zip archive of the CBS.log file is attached.

It certainly tempting to think there is some clue in lines like those highlighted below.

BTW, the reference to D: might be a red herring. I am not familiar with reading the error logs, but the d:\w7rtm\base\wcp\componentstore\storelayout.cpp... line may just be the source code of the file that is reporting the error, which might have been on a D: drive on the developer's machine. It may have nothing to do with an attempt to get anything off of the D: drive of my machine.

I am about to run a memory test (memtest86), just in case. If it turns up any errors, I will report them here. Otherwise, this is still seeming like a Windows issue.

Hi,
I have no idea of what that is
Run sfc /scannow three times restarting after each run.

Hi,

Run sfc /scannow three times restarting after each run.

I did that. I don't think it was any more successful than before. I have attached a zip of the CBS.log file. Not sure if that's the relevant one.
